Thanks man. Though the drivers that didn't make it in the 500 were very upset. ( In the 1st Duel ) Michael McDowell ( # 66 ) went out of the race late for an engine and just lost all his hopes go down the drain , and Kevin Conway ( # 97 ) looked to be in the race but as they were coming to take the white flag , he was down at the bottom of the racetrack by himself without his teammate Joe Nemechek ( # 87 ) ( who was really stuck on the ouside trying to get to Conway on the inside ). In this duel ( 2nd Duel ) Casey Mears ( # 13 ) had to start at the rear of the field due to losing an engine with only 15 minutes left in final practice, then on Lap 3 Casey Mears engine blew up and missed the race ( also putting him out of the race ) , Todd Bodine ( # 60 ) was also one of the drivers who had to race his way in , and he was strong all through the getting pushes from anyone or helping guys that are in the race to get them to the front of the pack , Until with 6 laps to go Todd Bodine gets turned and backs it in to the wall ( damaging the back of his car mostly on the right side ) involving Steven Wallace ( # 77 ) who was in the race anyway. And finally , Derrick Cope ( # 64 ) the winner of the 500 from 1990 was in a transfer spot during the race but he was struggling at the end because he had no drafting partner costing him not to race in the 500.
