I tuned into this live but after the crash. My first image on the tv was all the ppl standing on pit row, and I knew something was different. I watched the live tribute finish, and thankfully they did do a replay of the crash once more at the end, the only way I was to know what and how it happened. Thankfull his boys are keeping the dream alive. R.I.P. Dan Weldon

As usual the awful production is obsessed with the in car camera and totally missed the pass. It's so so so so infuriating, how the people in the truck insist on showing in car cameras when a car is trying to attempt a pass. It's sooo annoying. Please please just show the pass with a normal angle.

Those cars are designed to hug the wall if they ever hit. Two drivers took a hard left turn to avoid the wreck that was never going to come to them! It's their fault that they turned into traffic and made the other cars go airborne for no reason! They're supposed to be professionals and no to continue to drive straight through no matter what and power through it! Bad instincts! Those two guys are responsible for all of the damage behind them and they should be pulled from any other further racing and never be allowed to drive again.

What causes the car on the inside to start to spin? As far as I could see there was nothing in front of him he just loses control in the corner and causes the second chain of events which lead to Wheldon's crash. Tyre failure or oil maybe?

I started watching Motorsport when I was 5 in 2005 and the first race I watched green to checkered was the 2005 Indy 500 that day wheldon became my dad and i favorite driver in racing we got tickets to the 2012 Indy 500 don’t think there was set of dry eyes that day at Indy I’m 23 now and have pretty much be exclusively watching f1 since this crash never can unsee it 😢

When I was a kid (5), I used to love Dan Wheldon. At this same time, Hot Wheels made IndyCar, and I had Wheldon's #4 National Guard car. After this crash, my father hid the car after his death to save me from the trauma of losing my favorite racer. Just a couple weeks ago, I found the car and saw this crash. I'm 18 now, and it's safe to say my father dodged a huge bullet.

i doubt it was with delight, a huge crash was the biggest fear amongst everyone, but was expected due to the very very high speed nature of the track. it was more of a "oh f*ck, here we go".
