The $80 dayco tensioner from AutoZone is also a rebranded Litens? Litens brand is $230 at advance. Same price as OEM Honda dealer part which I am 99% sure is a Litens also. Amazon says the Gates and AC Delco tensioners are also made in Canada most likely also a Litens rebranded.

The after sound like a loose valve is actually a bad timing hydraulic tensioner for the belt you should replace.

Need help for ordering that part here in the Philippines, supplier is asking for Part Number? Mine is 2013 Honda Odyssey but I think they are just the same with 2011, any help about the Part Number?, Thanks!

Yeah maybe you should do that timing belt tensioner first lol…

How did that tensioner last? The ac Delco is $180 and dealer is about 300. Idk how you got away with a $80 tensioner.

It last pretty good but my wife got into and accident (not her fault) and the van was total. Got a a different van. I say if the belt last two years I am happy with it. That is how I look at it. Whatever you think it save you some many. Sometimes these belts come from that same manufacture.

It almost always varies with the brand that's stamped on the part. Has NOTHING to do with quality And that $80 part, is probably only $45 dealer price.. and even less if bought online where they have no overhead costs!!

What will happen if the tensioner and pulley fell off from the engine hood when driving 60 miles/ hour ? 2007 Honda Odyssey 90000 miles

You lose power to vehicle and would have to pull over

If it was a the serpentine belt tensioner you are probably ok as long as you pulled over asap. If it was the timing belt tensioner you most likely need major engine work/new engine.

The Driver will not be happy. That will be the first thing that will happen.

You don't lose power, ya lose power steering, then motor overheats, then battery gets more and more worn down.. but overheating is the most serious thing because too hot will destroy the engine pretty much(warp the cylinder head so blow the head gasket, and then beyond)..

Lol, a pro 😅, with a pile of wrenches and a little tiny floor jack -- no, just a guy saving some good cash instead of paying $100+/hour labor rate!! Can't blame anyone for at the very least trying to do it themselves, granted I am a professional, trained mechanic but even if I was not there's no way in hell I'm paying for someone else's labor when literally ALL of the info is at our fingertips these days!!! **For what it's worth, when trying to figure out what exact part is making noise, using a (preferably long) screwdriver and touching the suspected parts with the tip of it, and putting your ear to the end of the handle is like a stethoscope and is super helpful in pinpointing where the noise is coming from.. Anyway, good luck to all of you diy'ers - keep on saving that money at least for the more simple things - and even more complex stuff, just takes some patience and reading up on the proper way to do whatever it is you are trying to fix or Diagnose!
