2011 International School Bus

Very good bus. I drive one with a short wheelbase and a lift. Just turned over to 30k in a little more than a year. The only thing I dont like about this bus is the front door. It needs to be adjusted every couple weeks give or take. It flops open when I'm at highway speeds or when its very windy. I know its not me forgetting to check the switches. Other than that, its a pretty good bus for a newer model. I love the older ones personally. They seem to spend less time in the shop.

@indianaeagle219 actually, the yellow diamond does not alway mean air brake. we had a few internationals with the yellow diamond up in idaho where i drove school bus for a while. they were hydro brakes. there was a wire hooked up to the diamond and that accessed the parking brake. im not saying this bus is set up the same, just saying that yellow diamond does not always equal an air brake system.

I think here in PA, if you don't drive a bus commercially, e.g. you use it just for family and friends or for personal use, and it is under 26,000 lbs., you can drive it with just a normal C-class license. I don't know off hand how much this particular model weighs, but I could picture it being OK as long as you stick to that.

@Brayden791101 Yes! All of our 2011 Internationals have LED lights. And the warning lights and red lights have strobe flash.

Class-B Cdl. Then you will Need a 7d. The 7d allows you to transit Pupils. Then a passenger endorsement. Hope it helps good luck!!

@Ryan1823 No. I am a substitute school bus driver for my school district. When I am doing someone else's route, I am supposed to use their bus. I had the bus in this video for a day. My school district has buses ranging from 1993 to 2011.

@maggio211 Your incorrect about the wheel controls, unless specified otherwise buy the purchaser, by default the wheel controls are for the WL's and the Door.

The bus I ride from my high school out to the technical school I attend is an old chevy from the early 90s with a 366 gas and an allison...That thing turns some rpms...shifts at 3700-4000 all day long...Its a treat when I get to ride a diesel bus out to the school, rarely sees anything above 2000 rpm

my school has a couple of new buses similar to this. i would like to think it was an International but im not for shure. i got to ride one on a field trip to walmart lol. it had a new Pioneer cd player and 4 Dual component speakers on the ceiling. i didnt get a chance to hear the system cause she wouldnt turn it on. when u get the chance again can you do a vid showing the sound system. thanks.

the district my mom drive for just started having what they call T driver(temporary driver) using the bus that they are subing for but before they used to have there own bus which most of them were new like 08/09...thats a a nice bus though

I sure would love to own this school bus. It is so nice. I have loved school buses from age 5 and now I'm 29 and still loving them. I have a 1995 Thomas 20 passenger but it's nothing like your bus. Your bus is NICE NICE NICE. Thanks for sharing the video.

Thin wipers. Too bad. My son's bus he rides has the new wipers with edges that are red, what he likes to call "red-edged wipers". The old wipers during December of 2010 starting cracking like crazy every time the wiped. Got them upgraded the month later. But, yeah it's too bad. By the way, he rides Bus 1and it is a 2009 International IC CE MaxxForce 7 Model. All flashers/door controls are on steering wheel. (cruise control on 2010-present models on steering wheel).

Keep those SCAMS greased, because the slightest bit of rust on them will cause your Slack Adjuster to lock up (not function properly)
