Thanks, very helpful. Mine has 140000 miles on it and looks brand new as well.

My 2012 jeep grand cherokee overland engine will completely shuts down especially during morning when engine is still kinda cold. It happens when my acceleration is faster while making turns on an on ramp or off ramp or just regular left or right turn. Because engine shuts down, my power steering too loses it's power assistance steering capability. My engine COMPLETELY shits down. I'll shift it to neutral and slightly depress the brakes so l can start it in neutral as it cruises from its momentum then push the starter button. What do you think is the problem. Computer does not give the shop a code.

I experienced my first engine stall in years on my 2011 WK2 this week. Did you get to the bottom of this? I suspect it is the fuel relay pump which has been addressed twice via recall. Others have suggested a dirty throttle body might be contributing.

@@JS_72020 it only happens when engine is relatively cold from overnight stop in my garage or parked for at least 8 hours at work. After driving it for about 5 miles and I'll make a left or right turn , it shuts off. I have to immediately shift to "N" and slightly depressed the brake pedal (not engaging full brake) then I'll push button to start the jeep. Sometimes l get lucky because I'll come to a traffic light stop. But the danger is, THE STEERING WHEEL NEEDS POWER ASSIST and it's very very hard to stir evenforme. That's why l never let my wife or daughter drive it.

@@mannixja I know what you're talking about. For me it has always been when slowing down and making a turn. As always, dealer and mechanics can't replicate or finding anything. I'm having the fuel relay replaced (cheap) and having a mechanic inspect and clean the throttle body. Hopefully, this addresses the stalling for another 3-4 years.

Hey Brandon, did you use a tool to aid the relearn process or is that just a recommendation that isn't necessary?

What did you do at the end ? Did you relearned?

Does that trottle body fits to a grand cherokee 2014 5.7?

I wasn't positive of the answer, so I took a quick look on Rock Auto's site. It looks like the part number is different for 2011 and 2014. I couldn't say how different. But, looking at the photos of the part, the plastic cover over the electrics is a different shape. So it looks like the throttle body itself is physically different.

Did you need to perform calibration or relearning procedure after replacement?
@sparkleywizzles5295 Жыл бұрын
I did, but (going on memory), this only involved fully depressing the gas pedal, holding it, releasing. It was a simple process.

Did you get a check engine? Code?

Even the dealer can't figure it out because there's not a code coming out.😮😮

Would this cause starting issues?
@sparkleywizzles5295 Жыл бұрын
In my case, no. But it could if it got bad enough and the throttle doesn't know where it is supposed to be. My problem turned out to not be the throttle body at all. Despite the user manual stating that 87 octane is fine, moving up to at least 89 octane ended my issues. I figured this out only after replacing the unit and having the same problem in a few weeks (I also replaced the accelerator pedal sensor).
