Best video of all I've watched. The others don't even mention that there are three actuators with different functions. I had to find this out by trial and error. Now, I have to buy one actuator and put everything back together. Thanks for sharing your experience. By the way nothing has changed. I have a 2016.

yea I replaced the driver's side actuator that regulates air temp because it had a damaged gear, then it started clicking again a month later so I got another and went to replace it _again._ Turns out it was fine and the passenger's side actuator was the one that was busted. Great.
@shaunpfund33702 жыл бұрын
I wanted to let you know that I found the best approach to replacing this part was to remove the passenger seat in my 2015 Jeep Patriot, place a couple of cushions in the gaps to save your back and slide under the dash, near the fire wall, face up, where you can get at least a glimpse of the actuator. It was still not easy, but we got it done. This part was held by two screws and yes you guessed it, the top one was a B...h, your screwdriver and hand are smack up against the firewall. The reinstalment of the part was a bit easier, but still a challenge.

OK. Found out what was causing the Clicking noise. The Air Conditioning filter was not re-installed properly back into the tray inside the glove box. Whenever I take my car to get an oil change, or an inspection, they always try to upsell you on stuff. That Air conditioning filter is one of them. They just put it back in incorrectly causing a jam that causes it to catch internally making a clicking noise. UGH. Glad I watched this video, and almost bought a new actuator, but that was not the issue. Just going to buy a new filter online, instead of the 4X markup they do at those service stations. Also changing my own oil again from here on out.

Patrick great video!! Thanks for showing where all actuators are. I had a question. I have been experiencing the popping and opened up the glovebox to see. As i switch my air controls to ON i see the white filter switch forward but then i see it get caught and the clicking starts.. is this an issue with that piece or would this still be considered the right actuato ??

Patrick, extremely helpful video! Do have a question though. I replaced the two actuators behind the glovebox. The actuator on the left side that controls the air direction I must have bumped when I put it back in because now it sticks halfway through the cycle. Any idea how the white plastic pieces align behind the actuator at the video 2:00 mark? Or what that part name may be so I can order a new one? It appears to be captured by three screws and the paddles ride in grooves on that large white piece to adjust the air flow

Mine used to click as well as a delay of about 1 minute. It doesn’t click anymore but it still takes about 1 minute to turn on the a/c. Would this be my problem or maybe something with the hvac controls?

Interesting. I have a 2012 Jeep patriot that has the intense clicking, like baseball cards on a bike wheel. Also, I've notice the air doesn't get quite as cold as it should. It's like the main front center vents are blowing cool air, but the side vents are blowing colder air. Super weird issue, i'm going to look into it though! Any tips/thoughts?

Hello, Patrick, I have a 2011 Patriot 2.2 diesel.the water temperature rises above 90 degrees after a maximum of 30 minutes of driving. The heat also does not work. I also changed the water pump. Do you think the problem is also from the actuator? thank you in advance!
@patrickmurphy8619 Жыл бұрын
Just grab the hoses going to the heater core. If they're both hot and your heater core is working and you should have heat
@patrickmurphy8619 Жыл бұрын
But another thing is if you just change the water pump I'd make sure you don't have air in the system

Pat I have a 2012 jeep patriot 2.4 engine All vents are working well when in use for heat. ETC. The problem I'm having is I get like a film on my windshield have to clean about every 5 days.. I did a pressure test on my system & found no leaks from heater core and back to radiator. Just need to know if you have ever run across this please??

Hello Patrick, I need your advice about an issue on my 2010 jeep patriot 2.0 CRD (manual) already. Sometimes there are popping (or air blast) sounds coming from behind of air blower and behind of cluster area. While the sound stopped after about two seconds, the heater isn't blowing hot air. Considering the possibility of clogging somewhere in the system, I cleaned the heater radiator with using chemical but nothing changed. I think there is some air in the system but I couldn't find the reason. What would be the reason and what part I should focus on? Thank you., Selim

That's the actuators I speak of they pop or click when they try to turn. Watch the video if you have no heat it's because the one that goes from hot to cold isn't moving

I want to say some of them are the same. I can't remember anymore. You'd have to do the research. I don't know what you have for parts stores but NAPA and the Northeast is really good about finding the right part.
