It's not all that often that you will find a car company that takes its top selling mid-size sedan and turns it into a low slung and sporty coupe, but Nissan has done it anyways. With 2 less doors, but the same powertrains underneath, it's just as potent of a performer, but does the lack in space affect the appeal of this hot rod Nissan? Watch the review to find out!

I know the Altima Coupe wasn't a great seller...but I think they should try again... especially with some of the new Nissan and Infiniti design language

I bought a second-hand 2011 Nissan Altima Coupe SR 3.5 in August 2013 with 27.2K miles, fully loaded. I picked it up for $22,991 of the lot. I bought this car because of the fantastic way it looks. Shortly after buying the car I debadged it (all the nomenclature on the trunk lid) with dental floss and WD-40. The only badge the car has is the Nissan "burger" in the grill. I have people come up to me and ask, "What kind of car is this?" which makes me very happy. Mine is red which helps the large tail lights blend into the body for a very clean look. I put a set of chrome aftermarket wheels on the car and that further adds to the mystery. The first year I had the car I did a lot of hard driving, full power starts, hard cornering, a little bit of drifting, and hard braking. I completely destroyed a $1,200 set of Michelin Pilot SPT's in about 15K miles. I had never had a front wheel drive car that could spin the tires off the line, I could feel the traction shift back and forth between the front tires, the Michelin's did not squeal when spinning so I did not realize I was laying a lot of rubber. The VDC transmission never shifts which is another strange thing for me. Like the guy says, the engine revs up to about 5,800 RPM's and stays there until you chicken out, which for me is around 125 mph, but there's plenty of speed left if you have the guts for it. After that I toned down my driving to act my age (old). I am 6'1" and there is not enough head room for me, I would gladly part with the sunroof for another 1 1/2" of head room. I have the back of the seat tilted back to buy me an inch or so more head room and I have gotten use to kind of lying back in my seat. The back seat area is worthless, I keep my windshield sunscreen and a box of Kleenex back there. Visibility is not good when making lane changes, no coupe is, I have added small parabolic mirrors to the door mirrors which helps some, but any lane changes, especially left, need to be done with much rubbernecking and great caution. This was my daily driver for six years, then I retired in 2019. Now I barely get 5K miles on the car in a year. She has 83K miles now and is in excellent condition, she gets pampered a lot. I love this car, it is quick and looks great. I'm very glad I bought it, and I plan on having it until I die.

If u r looking a cheap price sports car as well as reliable then Nissan 3.5 V6 coupe is one of them. Even though they are CVT FWD but they are capable to beat many expensive vehicles on the road. 270hp - 258 Lbs feet torque is not a joke

I mean, I know it'd be good to see coupe variations of popular midsize sedans (probably Camry should stay as a sedan haha) but they're not good on sales.. that's why Nissan discontinued the Altima coupe, Honda has the only rare bird (the only one coming to my mind now, correct me if wrong) of having a Coupe, V6 (rather than Turbo I-4), and a Manual Trans. You can have all those 3 rare combination right now in current gen. Their sales aren't exploding either compared to their sedan, but I'm glad they do it. It's an affordable, fun vehicle, also very subtle (not flashy).

@jdmuscle1015
@jdmuscle1015 4 жыл бұрын
@@sebafer2719 say v6 manual altima coupe vs v6 manual accord coupe. The altima has dohc which means more breakable parts and it also consumes lots of engine oil. The accord only has sohc and those engines are known to be super reliable and non problematic. J35 vs Vq35 basically, both make almost the same power and torque. I've seen reviews where they state the accord is lots more fun and more refined compared to the altima. In summary, both cars will be fun and reliable but the Honda edges the Nissan out just barely.

+Alexander Heath ON NO! I own an '08 3.5, with 6 spd manual, nearly 70,000 miles and it is VERY responsive and will scratch in 1, 2, & 3. Crusing the frwy at 70 n I need to manuver - drop it into 5th, "tap" the gas and it JUMPS ahead leaving others mouth open. Be careful w, tire selection, pay for those extra side-wall belts or you get lane drift; Correct tires n it goes where you point it.

I've owned two and never have had a problem. but the Altima is 110% more reliable, definitely the 2011 Altima. that specific year is literally the most reliable year for the Altima. the g35s are known for problems, but I've never owned one just from wat I've heard
