I found one of these boxes sitting in a walmart a few years after it was released. I guess it was hidden in the back for awhile. I bought one with the intention of sitting on it forever. So of course I cracked it a few days later because I could feel the Lilly in the box. Turns out nothing of value was in there...

I've been out of the magic loop for probably 8 years, I don't follow set prices and shit. I just google this and was surprised at the expected value vs box price. So yes, this was "new" to me.

@@myztklk3v It's something with a lot of old sealed sets, the singles are good but the sealed product is literally irreplaceable. You can open a box and get Liliana and Snapcaster and all the great cards, but once it's open it's open. These are worth a lot for nostalgia and for the Draft experience, things you just can't get from the individual cards.

@@BadVideosByBad for sure. I got into magic because of my dad. He built me a deck when I was in grade 8 or so I'm gonna say around 1999. My deck was built out of alphas through urzas and u added some cards from nemesis when it came out. I loved that deck, no one cared about alphas as marked cards in my groups and they weren't worth anything then really. Later in life my deck was left at my dad's and one of his new wife's kids stole a bunch of cards and my deck apparently was one of them. Super pissed, but that decks value just inflated over my down years, and one of those ass holes knew it

Innastrad is what Homelands wanted to be when it grows up ;) that whole late 1700's-early1800's vibe... Tricorne hats, Brother's Grim, Flintlock pistols, Dark romanticism (Poe, Coleridge, Lord Byron) :)

I once I had bought 6 packs randomly from my local shop. Split them 3 and 3 with a friend later that night and he gave me the money. He had a Liliana of the Veil foil literally fall out of the back onto the floor of his last pack...never have I ever split packs like that with anyone again......................

This was when I got into magic, around the time between New Phyrexia and Innistrad, and as much as I LOVE this set, everyone forgets how awful it was to open this product for pulls. Buy singles and all that, but as a 12/13 year old kid opening a good rare or a Liliana was god damn impossible. The flavor, art, and draft of this set was phenomenal, but the pull rates were awful lmao

I have NEVER ever seen a box opening of Innistrad where someone pulled Lilli either online or in person. You have a better chance of getting Lilli or a Snapcaster opening a box of ultimate masters or MM17.
