We just got an '18 GTS (purchased July 2024. We heard water by the footwell on the passenger side. I pulled the same plug and had the exact same issue. I also drilled a 1/4" hole in the bottom of the rail to allow water to drain. Any idea how water gets in there in the first place?

There’s 2 places. Either sunroof drains are clogged. Or it is coming from the ac blower vent behind the glove box. I’m thinking it’s most likely that vent when the flaps are open, it allows water to come in.

I cut a hole in the center of cap to keep it draining, you can leave it off if you’d like ,

how can you stop the drains from clogging?

you can poke a hole in it, or keep it off. i suggest just poking holes in it, that way incase of rats getting in there and whatnot.

@@alexmacdonald9720it gets clogged from leaves, debris, etc. Porsche did bad with the drain design I guess
