I just brought a 2011 Prius. I absolutely love this car. I'am saving an insane amount of money at the gas pump. The Prius has less than twelve gallon fuel tank, but a driving range of five hundred plus miles. When you drive drive 55MPH you're averaging about 61 miles per gallon!

Robby.Izaak 2,000 to 3,000. But you get an 8 year warranty or 150,000 miles I think. So. If maintenance is pretty low for all those years, I'd pay it to keep a great car. You probably save thousands in gas every year anyways.

C'mon truck guys. People are entitled to their own opinions. If people like this car (which I do) then let them. I have two Prius', two 7.3 Powerstrokes (F250 and Excursion), and a Nissan Armada. I love my Prius' cause they save on gas, and don't require anything but regular maintenance.

@@jnot-your-business5290 no need to be snappy. I've got a Prius, and I completely agree. There's got to be a reason why it doesn't rev in neutral. It doesn't sound like it wants to. With that being said, you're correct about the torque- my last one was an '09 and it was terrible. The new ones have a lot less of that "rubber band effect" that happens when you put your foot down.

Don't take any comments on here to heart and listen to it like it's the gospel. I'm 17 years old, I've been driving a Prius since I was 15. I have driven a bunch of other cars too, but I like my Prius because I can actually afford to drive it. It gives me freedom that no other car can do, and I'm grateful for that. I love the car, it's not fun to drive on a race track, but none of my driving is done on a race track. It's fun and comfortable enough for me in real traffic & conditions.

Thing is many people hate on these cars I love them because the are good for the environment and I think their nice like so what it's got some unique styling (I don't know why I'm standing up for a car... but I'm still going to continue) but it's actually very good for the environment and that's the best part so what it may be weird looking how about you look at the first model Prius that's the weirder looking but these are one of the cars that are known to have some unique quirky styling so I'd say if you don't like it that's how you feel but they are really nice vehicles to have

@Spring794 A lot of hybrids don't have the room to carry a spare due to the battery packs. Some vehicles also have run-flats so they dont require a spare, which also saves some weight.

This car looks waaaaaaay better now than it did when it first came out. Even better than it did a few years ago, really. Little by little, Toyota is edging out the "weird" of the Prius. As for the negative comments -- this car wasn't made to burn up the roads... it was made to not burn up fuel. It's still probably more competent than the "economy" cars of yesteryear....

When people say it's slow or uncomfortable, that's their opinion. Sadly enough, you notice how most Prius drivers are all super old? It's because it's comfortable, and really smooth and quiet. That's why they like it. Some people, it doesn't rub the right way which is fine, but don't bash it just because YOU don't like it. My mom had a really bad car, but I don't watch videos about her car and troll on them. If someone asks me, I'll tell what I think and our experience with it.

This is the best looking Prius out of all 4 generations, but unfortunately there can be some problems with gen3. Toyota made some substantial changes to gen2, and in the process they made a few mistakes upgrading to the 1.8L engine. Common problems all stem from the additional power that the gen3 Prius has, namely failing inverter, head gasket and other problems associated with the ICE, especially around carbonising and piston number 1 failing. However, you can also get lucky and have a trouble free gen3 that drives half a million miles with no problem.
