Put a music CD in the CD player and it will work again. If the music CD is taken out, it will not work, so you must keep one inside to have everything work properly. Probably a hardware issue, Toyota should recall this stereo.

After watching a couple people discuss this it seems that you need to replace the dvd player. One guy bought a used one at a used parts place. It was plug and play and once he exchanged it everything worked!

You are right, just change the dvd player it will solve the problem.

Yo lo solucione desconectando la batería de el carro por 10 minutos Luego la volví a conectar y en switch only no prendido el carro introduje el dvd y comenzó a trabajar de nuevo todo bien

Same problem here. I replaced the multimedia interface module (upon recommendation from Toyota) and didn’t fix the problem. Did you end up replacing the rear entertainment with success?

Where did you buy new DVD player ? I searched in Google the new one is $600 . Is there any way to buy a cheaper one ?

Same problem. Toyota charges on a replacement will be around $4,000.00 This is a setup

have similar problem. mine will have no sound if CD is not inserted. also the rear enterainment system is not turning on either. Also the BT and AuX is not highlighted. I think its the head unit is no good..

Me too, Multiplayer doesnt have DVD option but system has a DVD video label on it.

You can push audio then go to DVD player

if you have a same problem, try changing rear entertainment center hopefully that will take care the problem. Good luck!
