Great video. It worked replacing the downstream O2 sensor. VSC, check engine lights cleared after driving for a bit. The connector was the worst part to figure out until I watched your video. The rest was easy. Thank you for the great video

Hey buddy, truly appreciate your efforts on this video. I just inherited a 2011 Sienna LE with 100K miles, and came across my first run with check engine lights, trac off, all that good stuff. P0057 and P0161. I'll be tackling this fix this afternoon, thanks to your detailed take. Thanks again! Hope you're still rolling smooth out there!

How is your car now after you put the new sensor? Did you use Denso 234-4416? Thanks in advance.

@@minhdo9597 Runs great. No codes or dash lights at all. Instead of the Denso, I used the NTK 24677 off RockAuto for $70 shipped. Been super happy with it ever since.

Great video. I have a 2007 Sienna, and it is very similar. 7/8 inch wrench fit mine. I did the O2 sensor on top (bank2 sensor 1) with a regular 7/8 inch wrench, too. But you must take off the heat shield held on by 3 small 10 mm bolts. If you have an O2 sensor wrench, you can do the job without taking off the heat shield. Some people have issues with the old sensor getting stuck. I sprayed the sesnor with "Blaster Penetrating Catalyst," which my auto parts store recommended over Liquid Wrench. I sprayed some on when the engine was cold and when it was hot one day before I did the replacement. It came off easy for me. (144,000 miles on my Sienna)

Hello there I have 2011 Sienna LE V6 and I have VSC and check engine light on and 2 code Shows P0137 P1604 I don't know if same oxygen sensor do you using or not and I Don't know if that same location or not Thanks
@tzimmerm274 жыл бұрын
P0137 is bank 1, sensor 2. It is not the same sensor. You need to follow the bank 1 exhaust, which is the side closest to the windshield. Sensor 2 is the downstream O2 sensor, so just follow the bank 1 exhaust pipe down past the catalytic converter and you will find it.

I have a 2011 sienna and had that code. I first changed 2 sensors thinking it would fix. Didn't work, code came back. Then changed the other bank (other 2 sensors). Worked and code never came back. So the fix was change all 4 sensors.

Does it benefit cleaning
@tommyzimmermann64844 жыл бұрын
You can certainly try that. But unless your sensor is very dirty, it is unlikely the issue. A good first step though to save some money if it works.

I have toyota sienna 2006 code was po174 bank 2 means upstream is that ok
@tzimmerm275 жыл бұрын
Bank 2 refers to the cylinder 2 side of the engine. On a sienna, Bank 2 of the engine is the side closest to the radiator. It doesn't relate to upstream or downstream. Upstream/downstream correlates to the O2 sensor position. Sensor 1 is upstream/before the catalytic converter, and sensor 2 is downstream/after the catalytic converter. Your engine code isn't as specific as the one I fixed in this video which points out the exact faulty sensor (bank 2/sensor 2).

Add length to your wrench handle for more torque. I've used a metal pipe over my handle in the past. Also you can try whacking on it with your wrench to loosen the bond with the threads, good luck.

Good video, did you just use a box end wrench to remove? What size?

I ended up using a standard adjustable wrench to remove it. I actually bought special O2 sensor sockets, but they were too long so there was no clearance.
@elevatorman4276 жыл бұрын
@@tzimmerm27 was it hard to remove it with a standard adjustable wrench and did you do it with a cold motor or while motor was warm. I had the P0057 on our 2011 for the heater element on that same sensor according to what I looked up P0057 is for a heater element on bank 2 sensor 2 oxygen sensor.

I have avalon 2011 , is it same way to replace ?
@tzimmerm276 жыл бұрын
Should be similar, the Avalon also has Bank 2 on the radiator side of the car, so follow the path down to the 2nd O2 sensor on that line. I assume the parts may be different as well, so just look up the right part for your car.
