Lol... I've just walked in from doing one about 2 hours ago. "We're going to off..." and then it's off.. :-) Good luck with that, :-) I do these for a living & you ain't "offing" much on them without a battle. Just as a minor example - the 4 studs holding the turbo to the manifold - those ain't coming out without at least 3 breaking off. Not happening. They will unwind a few threads, then lock solid & break. Always. The heat shields? Some of the 10mm bolts will come out, most won't, they'll just round off & do your head in. These are one of the toughest engines going to do a head gasket on - I know because I do them & sod all other places want to have anything to do with them.

Is it necessary to remove the camshafts just to replace head gasket?

Remember this when you next say that BEVs are not very good. Electric motors and transmissions are going to last way longer than these archaic devices.

I duno. My truck did 340,000ks before the head gasket blew. It was fairly simple to change as seen in this video. Cost under $200 to do the job. Should be good for another 340,000 ks. Can't say the same about a battery in a car. You'll be lucky if it lasts 100,000ks and then expect it to cost thousands to replace 🤷♂️. Don't get me wrong electric cars are fine, but don't make them out to be something they're not. Every car has some issue.

How to remove manifold / turbo studs
@acgolem2 ай бұрын
Carefully 😂. Na, just oil them up a day or so before and they should come off. If not try heat them and melt wax on them.
