I assume this isn't a popular opinion but at least for my generation 'This is Exile' was one of the best metal releases hands down. I'd argue it's up there with the all-time greats for the more extreme side of metal as well. Eternal Refuge in particular hits every aspect of metal from that era that was fucking brutal!

@@juliorobles5696 I took a hiatus from them and that genre/era for a few years while delving into Tech/Prog metal and when I came back it felt refreshing. I don’t want to sound like a boomer but newer ‘Deathcore’ doesn’t give me the same feeling. It is so heavily produced and chaotic that I can’t listen to it. Perhaps I’m missing out 🤔
