Salina has one of the creepiest sounding systems of Thunderbolt sirens in the US. I believe you guies also have an STH-10 and a fiew other sirens as well.

Why does one of the THunderbolt 1000Ts wind down at 0:36 into the video ?
@scotthopkins607012 жыл бұрын
the reason why the sirens cycle on and off like that is because they rotate slowy around in a clockwise formation

Salina is in north-central Kansas, located about 3 1/2 hours to the west of Kansas City.

Ah...thanks, I was wracking my brain trying to figure it out. The sound might have gotten softer if I turned my camera away from the street by accident. The sirens do cycle on and off like you heard on the footage but it might have been accentuated by the small microphone on the camera.

Born and raised and lived in Salina for approx 25 years.. Never did I see something like this there... I still for the life of me do not understand how this lifted before town.. You live on the far south end of Salina?? How come it seems like the tornados go there all the time too??

I honestly don't know what you are asking. What is a thunderbolt 1000T?
@garyhstorms1012 жыл бұрын
The Thunderbolt 1000T is a Duel Tone Siren formally used to Warn People back in the the cold war era 1950s to 1980s and now most commuinties like yours have kept thiers in service to warn of Tornado Warnings like in your video but these sirens main porpose back in the day was to warn people in the event of Nuclear Attacks from the Soviets but now most cities and communities are using them for Tornado Warnings now and every state in the US had a system of these sirens

South Salina (Jerry Ivey Park area) quite a ways south of where your mom's house is located.
