Hi there, I'd just like to say a big thank you to you. I watched your video and then fixed this problem myself. I changed the pump and it now runs perfectly. So thank you.

Thank you for this video! When my daughter's windshield washer pump on her 2013 Focus quit working, we turned to google and found your video. We had never attempted a car repair, but we followed the steps in your video and successfully replaced the pump! Thanks again!

Do you think it was just crap in the pump that stopped it working ?. I have the same problem . Thanks for video, i now have a plan of attack 😊

I think it might been yes! After years of filling the tank, I’m sure some dirt and other contaminants clogged up and/or wore out the pump to failure. I’m glad this video could help you out!👍🏼

My grommet (connector on the hose that connects to the pump) is not connecting. It’s loose, and I think I need that specific part replaced. Any suggestions? Do I have to replace all my tubing just to get a new connector or do they sell those separately?
@DomGaccioli Жыл бұрын
Oh that’s weird! I believe you might be able to go to your local auto parts store and get a Windshield wiper hose kit that may have the connector which would be a cheaper option. Or you could potentially be able to get the exact part needed at a Ford dealer’s parts department. You can run this video back and show them which piece is loose, provide them with your Vehicles VIN number, and they should be able to pull up the part number and get it to you.

I have the 2009 ford focus. I got the first part removed from the pump. that is the part with the C ring. However, I can't get the top part off. The pump is a little different but it looks like the attachment is the same. In the video you said it was hard to get off and wiggle. You mention the backside has a button to push. So which on is it? I tried pushing 2 of them and nothing. I'm afraid it might bust off if I do too much pressure. So that is the one thing missing from the video. So at 4:28 when you take off the top part, what does the part to press look like? Thanks.
@DomGaccioli2 жыл бұрын
I may be a incorrect but you should be able to pull the pump out of the tank and then unplug it from the harness. If you do that, you may be able to get a better look at the clip when you’re able to spin it around. What I show in the video is harder now that we’re here talking about it. It probably would have been easier to u plug the plumbing, pull the pump out of the tank, and then unplug it from the harness with a firm grip on the plug and the motor. Hopefully this helps out, cheers!

Can I do this by just getting behind the wheel or do I need the fog light out aswell?
@DomGaccioli Жыл бұрын
I popped the fog light out to be able to reach my other hand in there from the front but If you can access the washer pump from the wheel well only then that should work as well!

@@DomGaccioli I’ve managed to swap the pump to a new one, but when I tried it using the stalk, water appeared under the car. I think I have connected the initial connection correct, but I maybe have to adjust the black pipe. Any advice? I will try again tomorrow
@DomGaccioli Жыл бұрын
@blueboy4life sorry for the late reply. It may have been a hose not being fully connected or the pump not being pressed in fully potentially. I hope it was something simple that caused the leak.
@Smcgreg1084 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the vid. Helpful! Was your pump drawing water up into the BCM? When I use my washer I can smell the alcohol smell inside the car via the heater. And my BCM fried due to water but the water looks bluish like washer fluid.
@DomGaccioli4 жыл бұрын
No worries, I’m glad it helped! I didn’t have that issue, only that the pump had clogged or stopped working due to a foreign object entering the motor. There shouldn’t be any washer fluid hoses running into the fire wall, although it could be that the water/wiper fluid drains are leaking into your fire wall and making it’s way close to the heater core? If it were the heater core you’d most likely see orange/green fluid depending on your coolant. I hope you’re able to resolve the issue without too much trouble, Good luck!

Wow I’ve seen some fluid migration up wiring harness’ with transmission fluid like that before but I’ve never seen it with washer fluid! Hopefully the fix isn’t too intensive for you!
@empe8112 жыл бұрын
It does leak through the electric wiring unfortunately, inside the insulation. The pump is connected to bcm directly (with two separate fuses for + and -, 20A each). But if the pump socket and plug was dry then this nightmare (as it can fry the bcm unit) didn't happen to you. My pump just died.

How to take fog light out?
@DomGaccioli10 ай бұрын
Not sure, I don’t have fog lights. Just covers since my car is base model.
@radishpea6615 Жыл бұрын
How does the fog light come out? That bit of missing info lets the video down. It would have been a great video otherwise, still useful video
@DomGaccioli Жыл бұрын
The fog light can be unbolted from the backside of the bumper if I’m not mistaken. My car had the fog light dummies (plastic inserts) since it is a base model and those can be pried out from the outside. I’m sorry the video didn’t cover that, I will make sure to include miscellaneous steps like those in future videos. Thanks for the feedback Radish!
