Man I thought it was gonna be a bitch with the rust on my car but using that impact tool on the end of the ball joint to push it out of the clamp worked like a charm. Cheers to you and this vid.

TLDR torque specs listed in this vid: Wheel nuts - 100 ft.lbs 19mm Control Arm bolt 131 ft.lbs 17mm control arm bolt 87 ft.lbs Ball joint nut 53 ft.lbs Applied well to my 2012 soul (same ball joint) just some extra sway bar links that get in the way.

The last time I replaced a suspension arm joint, I replaced the whole arm. No messing trying to knock the joint out, risking bending the arm.

The only thing i can say to that is, if you work for a manufacturer and there is a part that can fix the customers complaint for a lower cost you have to put the lower cost part on. In this case it was a 65$ ball joint or a 300$ control arm, the manufacture will cut the claim at that point and it will also bring up the cost per vin which in turn will lower your dealers ranking. Now I am not saying you are wrong but if the part is made so that the ball joint can be replaced separately then there is no danger of damaging the arm. I have done these ball joints this way for 13+ years with no issues. Is there suspension tools made to make this even safer...yes. Do I need them for this job... no. But take in mind that skill and experience is also a huge factor when doing this type of work. Thanks for watching.

@@Chaos_Dave98 that's good. Always check the cost. But when your at a dealer and one part is 50$(ball joint) and the other is 240(complete arm with ball joint) while the vehicle is under warranty. You have to take the cheaper part. Thanks for watching

this is roughly a 1 hour job if you have a hoist. but times could vary and things can go wrong. always practice safe repair techniques.

follow the shop manual same procedure in alldata(which gets its information from the manufacturers) torque specs are the same also.
