it's easy to see waldner was more talented than wlq, who worked harder than anyone else on the chinese team to be at the top of the world a couple yrs ago. ma lin used to say if everyone else did required 1 hr workout for example, wlq would always go extra 25 min earlier. depends what u mean by greatest. imo, ma long is the greatest

WLQ style is too outdated, you cannot dominate table tennis with just blocking. You need to have one of the following: 1. powerful forehand like Xu Xin, 2. powerful backhand Zhang Jike 3. control like Ma Lin. Even Ma lin backhand blocking style was outdated until he learn backhand reverse top spin and combine with his control.
