A real shame to have '80s VHS quality footage of such an amazing match.

There's an old saying in racquet sports....when you're ahead, play like you're behind. Joo did not do this at the beginning of the 6th game, when he led 3-2 in games. See how much more focused he is at the beginning of the 7th game than at the beginning of the 6th. YOu have to send out fiery vibes like you're fighting for your life with your back to the wall when you're AHEAD...don't wait until you're behind!

Even if I read this 6 years later 🙂 I have to say that I think it was a great comment. It is so easy to lose some focus when being in the lead

Both players are amazing

I think Joo Se Hyuk is the only player who can challenge Ma Long. Ma long has no problem playing against others.

he had problems with wang hao

+sushiking56 He had multiple matches with Ma Lin and both won; Xu Xin tied 3-3 (in sets) with Ma Long and then Ma Long lost after a 10-3 breakdown; Zhang Jike barely beat Ma Long and put up a spectacular match.

Does anyone know why Ma Long touches the table in the top left with his right hand all the time? I've seen other players do it, often Chinese. Is it just to cool off his hand so it is less sweaty to hold the paddle? Wouldn't that also leave sweat on the table? Obviously it seems like they are allowed to do it, just not sure what it's all about. Thanks.

+Force2BRW They have so much sweat on their hands, so they wipe it on the table :P

They wipe their hands. But if you look well, they do it close to the net, that's where the ball bounces less.
