this poem touched me in a very special place. this made my heartache, i feel for her and anybody with the condition. once people learn to accept the fact that they cannot control the ticks, they wil learn that they are really beautiful people on the inside.

i have tourette's as well. i don't have copralalia, but i do feel almost everything she says. not sure if she'll actually read this, but id like to say: thank you so much. you have touched me with this amazing poetry. it is so reassuring to know that there is another person who understands you, especially with something that can be so isolating. much love to you and your demon. but especially to you.

I've met her several times, and worked on poetry with her. And talked about this piece. She doesn't have Tourette's syndrome, it's just a very well done persona piece.

Lord have mercy....what words are there? An absolutely stunning piece that jerks tears to the eyes. Amen to the courage it takes to stand on that stage and bare your soul. God bless

This is just beautiful. And as for the ppl who say this is boring or stupid, you will never know what it's like to have to go through life with such a sad condition. She is gifted.

i wish that poetry like this was shown in schools and to raise awareness it would have a much better effect than stupid posters and things around school saying like bullying is bad and its not big to make others feel small if someone could see it from the actual persons perspective it would be 10291203820 times better

Now I'm not the kind of person that cries while watching wedding videos and stuff, but at the moment when she started to curse but stopped and held it in, finally able to overcome it for a short moment, I cried.

No, she's taking on a persona, a role. It's like acting. The poem is written from a point of view of a person with tourettes, and so she's playing the role. She's not making fun of them, she's representing them.

Tourette Syndrome runs in my family; my father, sister, and I have it and I can understand her pain, embarrassment, and single wish for it to go away. She actually mentions coprolalia tourettes, which tells me she knows what she's talking about, so as for the person who said she doesn't have it, you don't know what you're talking about and you don't understand what it's like to have Tourette Syndrome.

Yes I realize that, what does it have to do with anything? She appears to be struggling to control herself throughout the poem, and for a moment she holds back mid-curse and stops herself from blurting it out...

this poem was genius, if you really watched this and think she totally disrespected people with tourettes, then you COMPLETELY MISSED the point of this poem; it's dark, it's moody, it's brutally honest.

where has this word's education gone when cannot decipher between actual events, poetry and act. She is clearly in control of her words throughout this poem but she merked this so bad u cant tell. Comphrension for the ones who didn't get it..this is just a poem however, she is using a disease explaining the emotional toll and saying we as a society ban these plp for having a disease they cannot control leaving them isolated. The irony is we have control over the things we say not vice versa
