personally I prefer the newest gen camaros (idk if the 2014 models are considered a diff gen than the 2013 because they really have almost identical bodies) but considering I was born in '97 I can't really appreciate the older models as much as other people can. I drive a 2013 camaro 2ls and honestly love the car. Looking back I would have rather gotten a 1ls (stick shift) rather than automatic with paddles but its still insanely fun to drive and has effective engine breaking which is rare in cars like the $24,000 2ls.

I love every last thing about this car, but that hood is my favorite. I have always loved the Camaro's retro interior, too. Great build quality. Those quad pipes are gorgeous as well. I never thought I would buy a Camaro over a Corvette, but I think I'm gonna have to chose this over the Corvette Grand Sport.

I recently bought a 1978 Trans AM SE Gold Edition, and it has the 6.6 400 in it. Probably about the same gas mileage as this, and I agree, totally worth it. When you're driving something like that, it goes from being a chore, to something you wish you could do more!

***** no, automatic transmission preps gears so you can smoothly shift and have much more control over the car, not to mention you do not have to let out on the gas to shift in automatic regardless of using paddles or just the car's normal transmission if you're going to street race with a zl1 it doesn't really matter because most people don't have a car that can beat a zl1 in a drag race (most street races are light to light) but on the track manual transmission will hold you back

The automatic is an added option, you can still buy it with standard stick shifter. The auto option is just to improve gas mileage when leisurly driving with an option to use the paddle shifters if you feel the need to do so. If you don't think you would ever use the automatic feature you can save yourself about $1500 bucks and not get that option.

Overall great overview. Phenomenal Car! Auto trans is a 6L90 though. 6 for 6 gears. A 4L90 would be a 4 speed and I doubt believe GM has ever built a 4L90. 4L60, 4L65 (C5 Vette/4th gen F-body) and 4L80 for the HD trucks

The SS's can come with the quad exhaust too. It's called dual mode exhaust and is an option on 1LTs and higher. Comes standard on the ZL1.
