This. I'm 15 years old and after a lot of hard work and saving I bought myself my first car: an E36 BMW 328i convertible. Sure, it's nothing too fancy but I bought it myself and I'm very proud of being able to say that. Like Adam said, set yourself a goal, stick to it (probably the hardest part) and you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

I've ridden in dozens of cars in the last decade and I have to emphasize this guy's opinion on the seats: The 91 Camaro I had several years ago was the most comfortable car I have ever ridden in. It had plenty of leg room and the seats were comfy at just the right height. No car has ever come close, not even second to Mercedes or BMW; I don't know if the new one carries on this legacy, but from the looks of it, they haven't abandoned this very important feature.

I have one of these cars. It is from a time when GM was not really at the top of their game from a design reliability perspective. The LS7 engine in the C6 Corvette Z06 had valve guide issues that have led to engine failures, and the supercharger in this car is known to rattle/knock and possibly cause engine failure if left unaddressed. I had the OEM two piece spring-loaded supercharger isolator in my car replaced with a solid unit when I bought my car. That being said, it's a great car. Just be aware that it is a heavy vehicle and needs every bit of that stock 580 hp (about 495 rwhp). The 2013 Camaro ZL1 Convertible weighs just 100lbs less than a Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The Mustang GT Convertible weighs about 3,700lbs. My car is making 673 rwhp after getting a larger crank pulley, cold air intake, long tube headers, ID1050X injectors, cooler plugs, a fuel pump voltage booster, a cam, and a dyno tune.

I have a 2014 v6 camaro and I got it with 154.4k miles over a year ago and now I have 167.8k on the dash.I drive to work 18 miles one way 5 times per week amd I really want to sell my v6 card get the 2013 hard top zl1 what do you recommend I do for the most bang for my buck? Get a new lt1? Or get a 5th gen zl1? Or possibly a 2016 or 2017 ss?
@CrazyAboutVinylRecords2 жыл бұрын
@@mikehogan5087 The 5th Gen ZL1s are the best bang for the buck IMO. If you get one just check and make sure that the supercharger isolator isn't an issue in the car you want to buy. If you hear rattling under the hood near the supercharger while the engine is at idle then walk away. If the car has not had the isolator replaced then budget about $500 for a shop to do it for you.
@mikehogan50872 жыл бұрын

Yeah this car sounds so nice. It is loud. The startup sounds so good too, it is astonishing. Then when it’s cruising. The one I got to ride in was manual so every shift lets out a few back fires from the exhaust (at least between 1st and 2nd) it is amazing

The new stringray is amazing. The rear end is nice in person. It ran 12.0 @ 120 in chevys test but MT managed 12.2 @ 118 mph. The interior isn't plastic. you might find a button plastic, but the carbon fibre isn't like the previous gen. Everything feels amazing.
