2012 Chrysler 200 no crank no start fix

Had issues with no crank no start on my Chrysler 200 and found a possible solution.

i had the same problem a few days ago on a 2013 non autostart 2.4 after changing a alternator, after 2 days of troubleshooting checking fuses, battery, relays, grounds, connections on the battery around the alt etc, finally find pulled off the starter and the car had a bad ign wire to the starter, the yellow small wire was corroded and not getting a good connection, i cleaned and fix the wire and the car is working fine as before 😀

As noted in a later comment, this is NOT a factory Chrysler "security device." Dealers offer it as an add-on.

Having the same problem and won't start, makes a tick tick tick sound. I pulled that chip out and put back in try to start it but won't start so idk what else to think of why this car is a pain in the ass. Really dumb the way they put the starter in tho lol

So I have a Chrysler 200 2013. It hasn't given me any trouble until one night it started fine and then died, then did that a few times. I went into the store and got some fuel injector cleaner because being busy I had ran it on empty a few time. I put the cleaner in it and started it, mashed the gas a bit hard and it died. Then it wouldn't even turn over, click or anything like the one in the video. it was late so I went home. The next day I went back to the store where I left it. It was on empty so I put a couple of gal. gas in it. It started then died a few times, the last time I started it and it ran a bit longer so I thought it was cleaning the fuel out so I mashed on the gas real hard to get the cleaner through the injectors and it died. Now it won't start or turn over at all just like the video. The two lights on the dash like the video are on and the battery is good and everything. I'm wondering if maybe during all that trouble that switch went out or something went wrong with the alarm system. Any thoughts?

I had the Same Issues.. But I replaced the mass air flow sensor.. and also 02 sensors.. light never came back on.. and no more issues

same issue sometimes but mine doesnt have that plug. I can use the key fob on the keychain to start the car then place the key in ignition or put my foot on the brake the car will die. This is definitely a problem with these cars.

I just had my catalytic converter and both o2 sensors fixed in my 2014 Chrysler 200 and now my alternator is dead. It's not always a no crank no start because if that's the case and you have no plug or security key then it's the starter battery or alternator or all the wiring to any of those 3

That is an ADD-ON, non-Chrysler "security" device that some dealers add to their cars as a dealer option.

Mines acting up as well got new batt and instantly the new batt drained down to 82% I think might b starter or alternater ill look for that plug first

Look in the fuse box under the hood. There's a 10 amp fuse near the front that may have blown

My 2012 Chrysler 200 Touring V6 won't crank or start when it sits overnight. I got it in July 2017 in October I changed the battery and it started doing it again in January. I changed the battery again because it says bad battery and now it's doing it again. It started in April so every three months after changing the battery it starts again. I'M not leaving any lights on. I just want to know why it won't crank or start after sitting overnight.

Has to be taken in and sync with a scanner had the dame issue. Replaced it the first time ran fine for a month then died again. My car wouldn't go over 2k without shutting off

for those of you who dont have the kill switch and are still having this problem.... i just had an intermittent no crank no start that got worse on cold days in my 200... it was the TIPM, u can get a used TIPM for pretty cheap and replace it yourself... the TIPM or (totally integrated power module) is literally the fuse box under the hood, they designed it like shit and in stead of replacing a $2 relay when one goes out chrysler decided that integrating them into a module on the bottom of the fuse box was a better idea 🤦‍♂️

@@dmayse1000 I feel dumb. When I moved the car to tow it I disconnected the transmission cable . I installed a used engine and forgot to connect the transmission cable and put it in park . Still getting the thunderbolt symbol but at least it starts now

POSSIBLE SOLUTION: My car was doing this same thing same lights and everything the only thing that was wrong was the chip in my key went out ! My car also doesn’t have one of those chip things. THIS COULD BE WHATS WRONG WITH YOURS DONT SPEND UNNECESSARY MONEY!!!

Having the same issue due to my key fob. It was dropped and broke to pieces. Had been using it bypassing the anti theft for almost a year and finally it stopped working and I’m getting a no start no crank. Also my killswitch is missing. Like It’s not where it should be. It’s so pricy to get a new key bc I would have to call someone in from out of town, no one in my town does it other than the dodge dealership. What can I do?

@@jeanjacque1577 unfortunately, no fix. Car is still broken and I’m scrapping it at this point. It’s not worth the amount of money I’ve spent trying to fix it.
