The Grand Sport has the same steel chassis as the base version. The Z06 and ZR1 have aluminum frames. The only thing wider on the grand sport are the body panels and tires. You can swap them onto the base version no issues.

From Road and Track: The Grand Sport's powertrain is exactly the same as the base car's, but for a mere $6400 extra you get a lot of wider stuff-wider Goodyear F1 Supercar tires, a wider, more flared and chiseled body and a wider steel frame.

Im sorry...I can't help myself. At 1:04 you state the car is rare...if you mean Corvettes in general, they are lower production...but of the 4 years in which the GS was manufactured from 2010 to 2013, of the 50903 TOTAL Vettes Produced those 4 years, 31176 were GS (both convertible and couple) for a 61% production rate...hardly a rare car. 1:38 The GS does not come standard with a "hand built" LS3...only the manual transmission GS do, the automatics have the traditional LS3. 1:45 Any C6 LS3 outputs 436 HP with the optional dual mode NPP exhaust, other wise they are 430 HP.

I'm sorry but as a corvette tech I have to tell you the frame of the base c6 and grand sports are the same grand sport has wider body panels like z06 as well as some other Z06 perks like dry sump and so on but the Frame is the same. Base Z51 c6 has all the coolers but not a dry sump and also has brakes for track and suspension for track if you don't get the mag ride option. I could go on and on but just wanted to correct you on that.

You should stop doing reviews! Your telling possibly impressionable first time buyers a bunch of crap. “When the car takes a sharp corner the oil isn’t touching internal parts” basically what you were saying. Engines have oil pumps that pump oil through oil channels to all bearings and moving parts in the engine. So nothing is touching the oil in the oil pan.
@everycarSeattle4 жыл бұрын
I don't think you understand the principles of a dry sump...here's a link: focus on the part where the technician says the most important benefit of a dry sump engine is on the track so taking corners won't cause the engine to run dry which is why most track-focused cars use the technology: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2HPl5eLjdaJaMk
