I have Samson fishtails without baffles and they are way louder than that, sounds like you still have baffles in them, not saying that louder is better just no that usually straight fishtails crackle really loud when you rev on them.

Hows your bike run without baffles i literally just bought them and haven’t received them yet . But i also got torque cones to try to get some of that back pressure back

I think it sounds fairly good stock. I'm looking at a 2012 with V&H on it....Trying to talk the owner down some on it.. O---She'll talk to you now with those fish tails on her!

I luv my Kerker supertrapp cannons , but the turn down rub the speed bumps and 60% grade driveways , a turndown is 128 bucks each , set of 33 inch Fishtails 130$ on Ebay . Back in 2008 Turndowns was 40 bucks each . Supertrapp slip on have jumped up 300 bucks in 9 years , use to sell for 400 now they want 700 $ .

The sound great and look good from the side not go great from behind. Fishtails will decrease power as the restrict the flow.

I wanted to put them on my tc88 but when i got this bike it had gutted stock mufflers and it just made no power at all, buyers remorse. I got it running right now and love the sound of fish tails but I’m haunted by that experience And don’t know if that’s how much power I’ll lose

I know this is an older video but I have a 12 streetglide. Been wanting to make a move but with straight pipes be a little different. But my question is did you get the bike tuned. If not how did it perform in the long over time and if you didn’t tune how did the chrome stand up. I have rhinehart true duals and they are nice but wanna try something different. Nice bike by the way!

Since I didn't change the air filter I didnt have to get it tuned, but with straight pipes u do lose a little power, without baffles u loose backpressure

They are just slip on, you need to change the head pipe to make her "straight pipe". Also called true duals. You have a 2-1-2 head pipe.

true, but my point was to show how they sound with slip ons without baffles, the slip ons are technically straight pipes but youre absolutely right

Am thinking about doing the same thing on my Road King. Am wondering what Samson pipes at $350 have over the eBay ones you got for $160. If straight pipes, they're just hollow so I wonder what makes Samson pipes so expensive?

they were generic straight pipes from ebay, i ended up trading the bike in for a road glide on 2016

I guess after playing music professionally for 45 years, and riding 2 wheels for 750,000 miles, my ears have had their fill of loud pipes. I like to be different, so I'm in a huge minority of bikers that ride with stock pipes. But it's cool whatever you want to do, just be thankful the Govt. hasn't decided to bust everyone for changing pipes. Btw, I run 3in. Flow masters on my 69 442, but they don't get in my head like loud Harley pipes.

at this point i didnt cause it had a stock breather, but after i replaced it with a high flow, i had it mapped

How much better does it run how much more power do you have and did you have to tune to prevent loss of power?

i traded it in years ago, but i remember i gained HP but loss torque due to not having baffles, i didnt need it tuned because the air filter was stock at the time, i later changed the filter and had it tuned, it ran much better after that

My bike runs the same with either pipes, except I can hear the radio, my ears don't ring, and I don't piss off the neighbors. They came from the factory that way, so I've learned to leave them stock. Everybike ive owned at some point I've put loud pipes on. The one I Ave now, stayed stock till last year. Ran the SE Street Cannons for about 1000k. Pretty much new in the box, who needs a set of mi t street cannons?

Andrew Buchen there's snow on the ground buddy. It's probably cold as frosty's nut sack. Any gas engine is going to smoke like that when it's so cold outside.
