@hellostevelee -- Actually, the CBR has more drive off the corners than a ZX10. I'm sure the Kawi will give faster lap-times if you have the skill, though. For street riding I'd prefer the CBR's healthy midrange power.

More than a new bike is just a hot rodded current CBR-1000, this bike for sure will be behind in perforance with the open class top contenders, but for sure one of the most selling bikes in the segment...is a honda. A shame honda do not built something like the 1992 original RR to celebrate this 20th anniversary.

@evetiannu i personally owned zx10r 2011 s1000rr and a ducati 1198sp and cbr1000rr 2009. i have to say the looks wise i like the 1198sp the most. however honda has the best performance out of all. its the easier bike to ride fast. Although it doesnt come with the bells and whistles, but its performance and handling is truly outstanding.

Can't wait for the shoot out between all this new bikes. Does anybody know when they might have it. I sure would like to see the CBR1000rr going up against BMW, Kawi and Yamaha superbikes. Whatever the outcome will be, I know my future bike will be a Honda. One thing that I will need to get used to is the front spiky fairing. Looks like Suzuki material. Not that Suzuki doesn't look nice. On the other hand its front fairing fits it just right.

this bike is truly awesome. everything he said is true. handling, suspension, midrange, blah blah, but all you had to do was add more power into the engine to compete with the kawa and bmw and you would have the total package.

@evetiannu you also forgot to mention that Honda's C-ABS system weighs over 9 kg. while the ZX-10R's ABS weighs 2.5 KG. !!!! But all the new bikes are amazing, technology or no technology... in the British Superbike Championship the ZX-10R and BMW teams ride with their traction control OFF because it slows them down.

Sure I would like honda to win more WSB races.But that's not the only thing that matters.The CBR 1000 is a great bike at Isle of Man TT.I'd say that's a true test of how great Honda is.I ride the 08 at Deals Gap,Tail of the Dragon.Compact nimble package.Not a horse like most other 1000s.

@evetiannu They just won the MotoGP championship, I think they know what they're doing. More power doesn't mean better bike. BMW looks like a cyclops w/ those different headlights. ZX is mean though I can't disagree with that.

@barcode0954 History is definitely on Honda's side here, i don't see Yamaha or Suzuki making life like robots. Honda will go back to the drawing board and come out with something that redefines the sport bike world at some point. That being said though lately they haven't really been the top dog in the sport bike game. History will be the judge and so far Honda's history in the motorcycle world is untouchable.

@airpd1983 Most guys just like to talk a big game, and just as you're pointing out 99% of the riders who will buy the bike will never see a track. They will burn up the local highways, popping wheelies next to minivans, until they need to take a turn at more than 60mph then crash.

@ZeroBoostBuick Traction control and ABS are for people who have no skill on a bike. It's there so they don't get killed the moment the ground has a little water on it.

I hope Honda is gonna make a special RC 1000 that will be competitive against rsv4, bmw and kawi w/TC & such. This new model definitely falls WAAAAAY short of the class minimum for sure...............Shame really

really all this bad talk about honda bikes ? why do some of you guys ask about the HP like it matters on a 1000cc bike . how many of us on here can ride a 1000cc bike balls out on a track. making it drift , power slide, front wheel off the ground while coming out of the apex ? i had a 07 gixxer 750 and that had balls on the track and street . so long to that because of a drunk driver . that now brings me to the 2012 cbr1000rr nasty bike . i say i would go with out the traction control .

@bearnkucing -- Honda is not serious about sportbikes. If they were they'd build us a V-4 instead of rehashing a 2008 model . Even that bike was born bad, (-their greatest and worst sportbike). Damn bean-counters and cheap Chinese parts. The idea of "Honda quality" is pretty much extinguished now. There's no reason to pay a premium for a Honda nowadays.

im a honda guy!!!n support ne honda product ne wher in the world!!but the only problem i have is the colour scheme they use on the bikes...its just so horrible tat it makes the bikes look bad...i love the repsol,the red n black....but red n white?just improve on your paint job n see how many more bikes you will sell!!n keep the std colours!!

HONDA is the most advance out all the motorcycle they have the most money and most power, HONDA does make bikes every 2 to keep up with it competitors because when the release a bike its already 3 steps ahead of its compition, and history has proven this
