Thank you for the help! I believe my high fan was stuck in the on position. My battery was dead, so I went through your list pulled and examined the fan connecter and fuses, as well as pulling and tapping on the relays. I checked the rad, and it was full, but the overflow reservoir was empty until the engine got warm and the fluid stayed under the minimal mark. I got a boost and drove for a bit, the fan never came back on, so I'm guessing it's time for a new relay.

So if the fan comes on doing the manual test with the relays does that mean the relay needs replacing?

Looking to replace a two speed electric fan from a mid 90's Ford Taurus. I should explain, I have a 1998 Toyota 4runner that I did an electrical fan swap in place of the clutch fan. The controller I used was made by Flo-Torq. I ended up burning up three of these. I also had wired the high speed portion of the fan to a manually controlled relay that after almost 12 years of operation, finally died. The low speed was operated by a temp probe in the radiator fins and would be active through the controller/relay. above 185 decrees F. If the temp went over 200, I could manually switch over to the high speed and this would cut our the power to the slow speed.. I am looking into a different DC controller as if I got it correctly, the low speed of this fan draws 40 amps and the high speed pulls 50 amps. Not sure how I will be able differentiate which wires are for which speed. Obviously black would be common or ground. Which one of the other two is for the correct speed? Also if I acquire a switching relay of 50 amps , I should be able to provide manual control of the high speed side, correct?. The video was veryinformative so your reponse would sure help me to upgrade to this fan. It seems to be thinner than the Taurus fan and I am pretty sure I can match up the wiring to a new controller for the thermally controlled low speed, and then have the manual side for the high speed. My 2012 has a little browning around the high speed fan relay. Should I replace this? Also I am needing to find the connector that plugs into the fan mine is burned out. I am needing to change it because my car is overheating. Do you know where I can find the part number?

Okay my 2008 hyundai santa fe coolant fan aren't working I have all blue relay fuses installed I did the manual and the fan worked but blue fuses not working are they the same as the brown relays fuses

Thank you step by step. As I turn my santa fe iffy and fan was running tapped on fuse it stopped.
