Excellent excellent EXCELLENT video! Same process worked for my 2014 Soul. Two points of difference for rear seat removal: 1) Access the 12mm bolt for the bottom cushion by putting rear seats down, and empty the rear of the car (the spare tire and storage foam stuff). 2) The clips on the bottom are just a simple tug upward to pop loose.

Great video, very helpful! My mother has a 2012 kia soul and a few months ago she noticed that her car would start idling, often when she is at a complete stop. I drove it a few days ago as well and the same thing happened with me. She recently got a new battery so we figured it couldn't be that and a few mechanics are telling us different things such as the engine is probably about to go or it could be the transmission lol but they never once mentioned the fuel pump. From your experience and knowledge I would love to hear what you have to say :) thank you so much

I believe a customer must respect a mechanic before bringing a car for repair it must be vacuum cleaned. Before removing the Fuel Pump the place around must be complete to clean from debris that will get into the Fuel Tank.

So when you get the fuel pump back together does it take a few starts until the car actually starts ? Another question do you take the negative battery cable off before your start working on the car ?

Yes always take the negative terminal off before working on the vehicle. After replacing the fuel pump and everything is back together, turn the key to accessory 3-4 times letting the fuel pump do it's full prime cycle each time. If u don't do this then yes, it will take a few times before it starts. Thank you for watching!!

No, the fuel filter is a separate filter than the fuel pump.

I used a misioek electric fuel pump and I'm getting a p0455 code dor gas cap,gross leak etc. I put a new kia gas cap on and still have pending the same code, could the brand i use be the issue,the sensor on top of the pump not being OEM? I didn't have this code before,or could it be vapors escaping from the pump ring and seal on the pump?

1st off, thank you for watching! 2nd the P0455 engine trouble code is not the gas cap, the P0455 is a large EVAP leak detected. I would look under your hood and use some carb cleaner, spray that around your rubber hoses until the rpm's of your engine fluctuates. When this happens you know the carb cleaner spray was sucked into the engine thru a crack. This is an easy way to track down cracked EVAP lines which cause vacuum leaks and will make it difficult for your vehicle to start if they are not taken care of. Thank you for watching!!

¿El vehículo arranca con el mazo de cables no enchufado? ¿Se enciende la luz de servicio del motor? una manera fácil de saber si ese mazo de cables va a algo, si la luz de servicio del motor se enciende, le dirá de qué sensor no está leyendo. eso le dirá exactamente adónde debe ir si va a alguna parte.

How do you know if it's the fuel pump in the tank or the direct injection high pressure pump under the hood?

That vehicle has both. The pump in The Fuel tank that You show in your video but also the direct injection high pressure pump mounted on top of the motor under the hood. I learned this while watching other videos here along with your video. Just don't know which one I might be having the issue

You will hear the fuel pump in your fuel tank turn on when you turn your key to accessory. If you do not hear that then you know which one it is.

now there is NOTHING to keep that vapor cover from popping off. You should have glued it back on with little Black RTV silicone. Easy fix that should be mentioned.
