To this day, this car still looks really nice and is way more practical than a mazda3. The only downside is the weak 2.5L option, which hardly provides power for a 1500 kg car like this, making 157 hp and 163 lb ft torque. It should have 200 hp for the 2.5L and the 2L engine making the 157 hp figure. The doors do not automatically lock once you reach 20 km/h. I like key ignition style startup over the push button start. The third row of seats is very useful for children due to the small legroom. The middle row is very spacious, though it should have 3 seats so it can easily be a 7 seater max. I'm surprised that the dimensions of this car is smaller than a camry or accord in length/width yet being taller, providing a higher seating position. The technology is quite minimalistic. I do like the 6 tray CD system though i prefer having an infotainment system while having that CD system. Got to love the heated seats option. I just think the mazda3 is redundant compared to this as you have more practicality than the 3.

In the middle row when you said there might be a bigger guy in front of you, i thought you were gonna push the whole seat back so you have leg room. what good does leaning back do?

Is the Mazda 5 better than the dodge grand caravan ?

I think Jeff is well over 6ft. Must be at least 6'4" or something, because I have this car (I'm 6ft) and my head just comes over the top of the roof line. There is also stacks of room in the back. It is a spacious car.

How is the leg room? (Yes, I see you wrote 10 years ago.)

Hahaha wtf I'm just checking out this video right now too but there are 101 better resources and quicker ways to get an answer to a question than a 10 year old KZbin comment.

@MIA7Xthies it might not help with leg room, but reclining angled my body in a way that made me feel like I had more room, and increased my overall level of comfort. Great question though.

@3:14 mpg is wrong. The official is 21 city 28 high way. I get 28mpg even with mixed driving during the summar in a 2015 sport trim.

I own one. He's right on all accounts, it's a very fun car to drive. My last car was a e39 BMW with a V8, so I have a pretty good gauge on what's sporty and what's not.
