I know this video its old but very useful. Im curious under load what kinda noise would you hear. Im asking cuz my gl450 underload make this skipping weird noise on driver front...but everything been change from controls, axles, engine mounts, front diff etc...but noise is still there

This GL550 would make a loud change skipping noise as the chain skipped over the sprocket under hard acceleration and load otherwise it was quite.

Would this be similar to the system found in a 2015 b250 4-matic? And would you say the chain has to be replaced on all 4matics after 100 O00 miles?

What is that plastic piece (shaped like a ring) called at the top of your bench? Mine snapped off the piece sticking straight up in your video and I cannot find a replacement. I'm not even sure how important that tip really is though, if I cannot find one?

Hello I have 2015 GL550 I started hearing clicking noise when car warms up and when I drive in slow speeds a specially when my wheels are turned to left or right I hear noises. My cv axle boots are dry no leaks can it be my transfer case. Thanks

Yes, highly likely, since in a sharp turn your front & rear wheels are going to have a greater rotational speed differential.

Thank you for this video! I have the exact same problem on my ML250 W166. Did you use a repair kit (gears, chain, gasket and all) or just a chain? My mechanic tells me that I will have to change anything and not just the chain.
