www.autobytel.c... The 2012 Nissan Titan PRO-4X was designed to go off-road and this truck is the answer to Ford's F-150 Raptor. The base model full-sized Nissan Titan costs $28,160 with the PRO-4X model tested here coming in at $37,910. But this is the top of the line model that is decked out with all the bells and whistles. This price point is still $7k-$8k lower than that of the Raptor. The Nissan intended to produce a worth adversary to that of the full-sized American pick-up truck. And the Titan has a bunch of great features going for it.
First off the 2012 Nissan Titan is one of the best looking trucks on the market. The styling is pretty aggressive and the Color (dubbed Red Alert Metallic) in this video looks spectacular. The Titan PRO-4X rides on beefy BFGoodrich Rugged Trail T/A tires that are wrapped around nice looking 18-inch alloy rims. The PRO-4X is only available in 4WD which is a good thing because if you are buying this truck, you better intend to take it off-road. Some of the other standard features that make this truck tough are the added skid plates, Rancho shock absorbers, and the lower final gear ratio.
The 2012 Nissan Titan PRO-4X is powered by a 5.7 liter V-8 engine that produces 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is 12 MPG in the city and 17 MPG on the highway. But who cares about fuel economy when you are tearing up the trails. The Titan comes with a tons of features and options including an OEM spray-on bed liner, solid DANA axles, a Navigation system with 7" LCD monitor, power everything, heated seats, tons of storage, and more.

I've got a bare bones 08 titan with basically only ac and cruise control and I love the thing.... Simple motoring... Trucks should not be about luxury...

We traded in my mom's 2007 Nissan Versa S for this truck. We had to take it back to the dealership for shock replacement and they never fixed it. I absolutely loved the truck. It had black interior, power driver and passenger automatic windows, backup sensors, hands-free bluetooth, and AM/FM stereo with CD player. The 5.6 liter V8 engine sounds like a race car.

Bought my 2004 fully loaded Titan LE at the auction a couple of years ago and LOVE it. I have been a truck guy all my life and this is hands down my favorite truck I have ever owned! Wish it had the rear powered window but those are only on 2005 and up on 1st gen Titans.

I have an '04 Titan and love it. It may be a decade old, but it's styling was years ahead to begin with. A leveling lift and magnaflow exhaust, and it blows the mexican made "American" brands away. (Unless, of course, you want to spend $50k on a raptor.) The guy in the video has one thing right, they're not a dime a dozen. The toy/ford/chubby/ram just gets old seeing one after another on the road.

it really will, I can't wait for Nissan to unveil their concept! The current Titan is a great truck, but it's outclassed in almost every way by its competitors. Like you said, wait till late 2013, and the Titan will be the best on the market!

I got the same truck, except I did get the power leather, heated seats. The mileage is off too, you're really looking at 11-13 city depending on the driver, and about 16-17 highway. Or at least that's what I've gotten in mine. The only downside I see with this truck compared to others is the gas. It's got the worst mileage for a full size pick up of the year (that I could see), but then again if you're buying a truck you shouldn't be looking for gas mileage.

Yep, Nissan will negotiate like no other company will when it comes to trucks. They know they are in last place in both their Titan and Frontier trucks when compared to their competition. They will drop the price of a Frontier easily from $32,000 MSRP to $27,000 OUT THE DOOR. Same for the Titan, I have seen them go from $40,000 MSRP down to $34,000 out the door.

Titans are manufactured in America. On a side note, how does this differ from the 2011 model? I don't see any difference from the video.

This truck isn't even on the same page as the Raptor, hell it isn't even in the same library! At best this truck can be compared to the Ford F-150 FX4 or the "Z71" package on the Chevrolet Silverado.

In no way does this truck compare with a F150, especially one equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine - 365 hp, 420 lb ft torque. As far as comparing it to a F150 Raptor - in your dreams - 411 hp, 434 lb ft of torque.

Why has this truck looked the same since it was made I actually think the newer "revision" is uglier than some of the first ones I ever saw....I figures they would have changed the look by now at the very least given it a serious face lift

Great truck stands the test of time. Styling is dated. Its exactly the same as when it came out. No updates or tweaks. What is nissan thinking. They would sell more of these dated trucks by lowering the price. F150s are not cheap and are well over $40k with the same likes. Fx4s are $45k +. The only full size with a decent pricepoint is the ram express its around $33k with good options. The titan as old as it is needs a pricepoint. This truck fully loaded should be under $40k.

That doesn't seem like a proper comparison to me. I would have the F350, Tundra and Titan, those are all full size pick ups, the F150 is smaller and would compete more with the Frontier

40,000 for that POS? No thanks. I can't stand japanese trucks. You pay a lot of money for a crap truck when you could buy a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge and get a much better truck for less. Doesn't make sense to me why anyone would buy this truck.
