First off I am a fan of TFL, been following U guys for a number of years now. This test leaves me a little puzzled though. U gave the win to the Toyota because of its shock package yet there was no place in this test where the shocks made any difference, no high speed bumps or g outs, just slow crawling. Secondly the Titan comes with a rear locker and hill decent, which are both of benefit when crawling as U were doing in this test. the Tundra is a good truck but I'm not so sure about your decision for this given test.

Got it at a great price and love the new warranty. My only complaint is the bluetooth is spotty and wont connect to my phone without me having to turn the truck off & then back on. you give tundra the win for shock package.. yet you can get the Titan far cheaper, and spend an extra $1300 ish and get a legit set of offroad coilovers like king, icon , radflo ext. what a joke
@KTMcaptain3 жыл бұрын
🤦🏻♂️none of those are internal bypass with hydraulic bump zone. It’s $1500 for Radflo front coil overs by themselves. Progressive suspension means stronger bottoming resistance while maintaining small bump compliance. . It’s $1000 for an ARB air locker.... local shop does them for $400 if you buy through them. $1400 otd and cheaper than your standard coil overs. Costs more if you want a legit air compressor to run tires though. . Best part is you have better suspension and a locker that’s way more reliable, stronger, and can be used whenever you want. . Comparable suspension will cost you $2500 for shocks and springs easily, is not setup by Fox to be optimal, and still requires an install and alignment. . Heck, you probably can run dual air lockers installed for the same price as comparable suspension would cost on the pro 4x.

@KTMcaptain3 жыл бұрын
@@Apftw Congratulations. Meanwhile in the real world, the cheapest Pro4x in my area is $52,304 compared to the Trd Pro tundra at $51,218. And you also failed to understand that a similarly equipped Titan is about $10k more expensive than the Trd Pro which comes with everything but ventilated seats, so similarly equipped Pro4x trucks are going for $55,474 to $58,875 here. . You can't find a decent pair of shocks for the price of adding a rear locker, and I'm sorry but king 2.5 resi shocks are barely decent. And your rmid travel Titan has about the same travel as a Pro, and less than a UCA tundra with longer shocks 🤦♂️So, that was an extra $2,300 usd over quality shocks and springs. Honestly you can do dual lockers for the price of 4 decent shocks and springs. And that's including the cost of labor for the lockers and not for the suspension package. . In case you missed it, the Pro comes with fox internal bypass shocks which are position sensitive meaning the mid stroke is softer than end stroke which gets progressively stiffer as it compresses. The Pro also has more travel than the standard tundra, so you get far better suspension with the tundra. More compliant yet has better control. . Plus the tundra has a ton of aftermarket support while the titan just doesn't. . Perhaps you should move to a more honest area where businesses don't try to price gouge their customers.
@Apftw3 жыл бұрын
@@KTMcaptain did you miss read my comment. my truck is the pro4x which is comparable trim to a trd pro. in the real world? like i bought mine in space or what.. simple tundras are more expensive its just a fact. more people buy the name, I get the pro had fox shocks. big deal, i know what they do, those shocks provide 2" lift and 1.5" of travel over a trd. you have 10.6" ground clearance. i get 11" of travel alone.. and if you think extended travel kings are trash compared to your fox shocks do some more research anyone can list terms off fox or toyotas website. defend your tundra all you want idc. simple facts are its overpriced and i can spec out my titan and save 10k. another knock on toyota they sell alot of trucks so they dont come down on price. here in BC my Titan was listed at 60k but i paid 48.. the TRD pro was 65+ and they wouldn't budge its a no brainer. I also like the toyota but im not going to pay more for it.
@KTMcaptain3 жыл бұрын
@@Apftw did you misread mine? 🤣 I explained the difference between the entry level pro4x and how the pro has every upgrade besides ventilated seat. . No, the real world is the place where the more expensive MSRP vehicle isn’t $16k cheaper. And I’m assuming that’s the cloth trimmed pro4x not the leather trimmed one. . But hey, if where you live they have to heavily discount a pro4x, then that should tell you all you need to know right there.

Gadgets are gimmicks to make the big three stand out. We are in the technology age. They didn't skip trucks. Apple carplay and google have become the deciding factor. Durability, reliability, and utility are something people just assume is in all the trucks. Bells and whistles seem to be forefront. It also seems who can tow the most with a half ton truck. Toyota seems the most reasonable in the area. But these other trucks towing 12000lbs or better is a little risky for me. How long can a truck hold up being a half ton gas engine truck towing that much? The Titan xd has a diesel and gas engine. F150 and Dodge Ram 1500 does too. Are the gas engines really design to tow this much on a daily basis or just for the occasional use? I think the titan and tundra are design for daily use towing their Max capacity. Do you think aluminum will last a long time? These trucks that are made of aluminum like ford gives me questions.
@tl51085 жыл бұрын
@@johnhaslett6714 the aluminum is a really good idea for body panels. No rust its lighter and just as strong. Its not as durable as steel and body work is probably gonna be a bitch with them. But overall I would say aluminum is good
