2022 has been a huge disapointment after the legendary years in music that were 2020 and 2021, which the opposite happened to 2012 so i pick 2012.

Not everything this year has been completely terrible, there are still a few gems, like The Family Crest's act II of The War, or Stranger Things bringing back older songs like Master of Puppets and Running Up That Hill. But I agree, a lot of the songs that seem to blow up enough to land a place on every radio station ever aren't really that good.

@@Imnotspecial0.0 I wouldn't get so excited at your place. I can't say a bad word for The Weeknd, he's really iconic. When it comes to the likes of Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo or American rappers...right, whatever. This generation has chosen its faves I guess. Justin Bieber has released few good songs during 2020s. There was no single song since 2020 which could sound innovative or modern. It seems like all the artists mix the sounds from the previous decades, cause apparently music producers ran out of ideas to how produce new stuff anymore. I'm still able to say 2017 was iconic year in music. I'm not capable of naming any year after that iconic at all, at least in terms of pop music. There are great songs each year. The only problem is they gain at best few million views and don't gain any wider recognition cause people listen to some generic crap, I won't be mentioning names. Back in early 2010s- Rihanna, Britney, Katy Perry, JLo, Gaga, Selena Gomez, Kesha, Adele many more had been releasing hits after hits after hits. All of them at the same time. Were these songs innivative? Yes. Were they catchy? Oh yeah. There was all the time something going on on the radios & on the charts back then. New "hits" didn't sound forced as much. I can't say that about 2020s. I don't want you to call me names and offending me because of my opinion , which I think many people would agree with. Maybe for you 2020 & 2021 were iconic. For me no, especially comparing to what we had in let's say 00s/early-mid 2010s. But hey, maybe it's not my era anymore.
