the thing on the top isnt part of the engine, its a power adder. a blower supercharger

Hello there the drag scene is massive in the states very lucky! :) Allot of reasons but mainly money. The track needs repairs, the club has now stopped running, theres little sponsorship opportunities in a small state like Tasmania which is very unfortunate as many new cars have been built ready for the coming seasons :( Theres is a chance it will run again but they are slim at this stage.

I am SOOOO waiting for a Kangaroo to go hopping across the track. Wow! This place looks like it's in Tasmania or something, ...oh wait. I don't even see a time board. Could that bee possible? How far is the nearest hospital? The questions are many but there is something very cool about the place.

Hey..thanks for the info, yes the drag racing industry is still strong here as long as the environmental nut cases stay away from us. I live in Los angeles, so its the home of the NHRA. We have quite a few Australian guys over here as drivers or as team owners of alcohol and nitro dragsters. again..cool videos!

Very much a rural track and yes needs some TLC, unfortunately at the moment this maybe the last year of racing at the track possibly for ever :(

Oh come on... 4 drs? Tommy Howes ran a 280z blown on alcohol and Camp Stanley ran a Chevy Luv truck w/a blown 454 on alcohol in the Wild Bunch in the early 80's before Pro Mods even existed! Oh, that's right.... they came down there and smoked you guys didn't they? Oops, nevermind. I loved the Intercepter in Mad Max by the way. ;) The black 2dr. I kid, really.... I think a Volvo 240 series 2dr would look really bad as a promod/outlaw. think about it.
