Sound comparison from a mostly stock 2012 Harley Davidson V-Rod Muscle VRSCF to no exhaust to Vance & Hines Competition Series Slip-On Exhaust. The V&H part number is 75-110-14. Here's a link to the product page:
www.vanceandhin.... MSRP is $600 but you can find on Amazon for less if you search on that part number.
Many thanks to Jersey Designs in Las Vegas. Find them online at jerseylv.com for motorcycle customization, parts & installation.

Might be the best bike Harley makes.

I came from a V-Star 1100 cruiser that was super comfortable, but really slow. I sat on a lot of bikes before selecting this one. I'm 6'1" tall and it just feels great. The drag bars are a little too far forward so I'm going to install a riser to bring them back a couple of inches. It's not good for a passenger. Went on a cruise last weekend that was about 250 miles round trip and I'd do it again without hesitation. ..although at 90/95mph your feet feel like they want to lift off the pegs!

Thank you I will try without exhaust in the meantime, some people says that it might lose some torque and power, but I’ll check on that, sounds awesome without

Just bought a 2012 muscle today..Had 4500 miles on it..Ordered the vance n hines slip ons. And the dealer said u def need the airfilter and tune with those..Also putting a 250 rear tire on it before picking it up...

Stock tail lights. I think that pulsing was a combination of the sun hitting the tail light and the crappy Flip cam I used for recording.

It's probably too late, but I was talking to Mike Stegman, head mechanic and race tuner at Latus HD in Gladstone, OR. He recommends the Harley Race tuner, with the Vance and Hines, and the K/N air cleaner, and DYNO. Should bump it to around 141 HP and SCREAAAAAM...I just bought my VRSCF 2012 in August 2012, and I'm loving it!!! I'll get some videos up shortly, looking to do the flip mirror mod if anyone has any suggestions, I don't want to ruin the stock mirror stems or blinkers!!!

Nice bike. I have a black Muscle and have bought the same pipes and an air cleaner. Just waiting for the snow to melt to get them installed. My only dilemma is what to do about fuel management.

I've been running it without for about six months now and it's been OK, but I'm sure I'll get more out of it once it's properly tuned. Waiting until my piggy bank has enough for a power commander.

I think it was about $530. They are still available on Amazon for the same price. A friend installed them but as I realized, it's only a handful of bolts and maybe 10 minutes to swap them out. No-brainer.

The V&H definitely sounds better than the stock exhaust (I *hate* the sound of the stock exhaust for v-rods), but overall, I really think it sounds better - as another use pointed out - with no exhaust at all.

Probably gonna need tuned pretty seriously for that. But you lack any kind of backpressure with it open like that.

I have the same vrod, with the same V&H pipes, love them love them, but Iive noticed that all the new Harleys have pipes that are very quiet and not easily changed, like the Streets and the new Sportster S. Harley is getting really weird

No time slip yet. I`ll take it to the speedway eventually. That little black thing on the airbox cover is a USB charging port. On long rides I attach a GPS to the handlebars and charge from that port.

Listening to the stock pipes just reminds me of how s#!ttY my 2016 Muscle sounds to everyone I pass by. Looks bad @$$ coming till they hear it. Everything is louder, Scooters, egg beaters, blenders, model airplanes, paper airplanes. OK I'm getting the Vance but was considering TAB exhaust. I will also hold off on the tuner as some have said if you run with baffles, you should be OK. I also heard the V-Rod is already tuned up from factory though you may get an extra 10 HP. I took the pipes off and just let it idle for two minuets without blipping the throttle. SWEET! The wife ran to the door and gave me a nasty look.

loud pipes dont save life, they are just annoying. And 10hp more is nothing, no noticable difference at all. I have a street 750, and yes I hear that alot "sounds like a power tool". The exhaust is the last of the modifications Im planning, liquid cooled are quiter lets face it, actually the street sounds alot like the Vrod and is not terrible. Its just the "harley school" that has made us think that being annoying is the only way to drive a motorcycle. There is a thin line between an awesome sound and just plain noise that actually hurts your brain lol.

David James 10HP increase in a car or truck is not really noticeable... on a motorcycle that weights a third of a small compact car is very noticeable. Added 10HP to my bike and I dropped 2/10ths off of the quarter mile. Nothing to sneeze at.

IMO If you can hear the whining of the engine the exhaust isn’t good enough. You want that whining to be almost nonexistent.
