Nice review! My friend just pre-booked a 1.4 TSI Beetle. It's not available yet but he's gonna be the first few people in Malaysia to get it.

Notice how the passenger side window did not come up when he held the lock key long, before start-up. A problem with the 2012 beetle.

Nearly all of the 2012 beetles have this problem. They have yet to find a fix. There are customers who were able to fix them at the SC and considered defects, but it was not done as favour to all beetle owners. Its up to you to get it fixed. I hope they can recall them for minor servicing, as it is quite annoying when it is either raining, or in a hurry to close the windows.

Most of them, yes. There are only a few available with manual transmissions.

Never really drove the Bug around to compare it thoroughly. Do you still have the CR-V?

Ive never driven a golf so i cant compare haha. I was talking about the bug and the crv. Yea, the crv is still around, but as u may of known, its the 2010 facelift, not the super new 2012 one. Are you back in the UK?

Yea i still have the crv, not that much of a difference in terms on suspension feel, but obviously the bug feels more planted, and smoother. Handling is of course better and surprisingly unnoticeable body roll. It may be significantly different compared to the 2.0s larger wheels.

I have a 2012 beetle and when I press on the unlock button the windows don't come down like yours. I'm guess on the US models it wasn't a option.

There was a recall on the early models with the motors not working correctly i.e. the windows would not always open or close and sometimes operated on their own without any commands given,

I cant deny that the design of new bettle is so cool and attractive and the acceration to 100km is so fast (sport version) but in terms of the features of this car is so bad, this 2.0 bettle cost RM 200k + but not even has electronic parking brake and navigation system.
