You can clearly see that your mum is visibly proud of her son. And rightly so, of course. She will be very happy with her fancy car. I discovered your channel a short time ago and subscribed to it straight away. You are very likeable and always passionate about what you do.

That’s a lovely comment thank you! I’m very lucky that I have such supportive parents, she does love the car! Thanks again, Sam

I get the feeling that you grew up with cars as a small child. You do a great job, Sam. Unfortunately, my English isn't the best. But you're still my favorite car channel.

Congratulations Sam. You have done your Mum proud. It's a lovely wee Up! A huge positive is the heated seats. They will be super in the winter. Happy motoring to you and your Mum 😀

Another great review, more meaningful (for me at least) than any hyper car or super car review

Nice video, I had the Mii 74 bhp and toured Scotland from Lincolnshire covering around 2000 miles in 2 weeks and it was actually a very pleasant journey, they are great to drive. DRL bulbs fail frequently but are an absolute doddle to change, just keep some spares with you.
@zaink70377 ай бұрын
Nice one Sam. Saw your post on the up facebook group. DRLs are prone to go and i suggest upgrading to LEDs whilst you have the opportunity. Try and get LEDs which have thin pins on the base as the large pin one can blow the sidelight and brake light fuses. For the boot release its likely the boot button. If it doesn't click when you press the button then its that whats gone wrong. Fixed that on a up. Moisture in the boot can be due to the seal on the boot button or high brake light. After a heavy rain open the boot and listen for water swishing the close the boot. See if there is any water which trickles down on the inside of the glass which shows its getting in. You mentuoned about radio signal which normal is the aerial base that goes on them. Best to get a new one than a used one as i found out myself when i changed mine and after a year. Intermittent speaker sound probably is the speaker going. I used pioneer speakers in mine.

Thanks for watching Zain! Some excellent tips there, good to hear that a new boot button fixed the issue on another Up! I will have a look out for one and a new aerial base as you mentioned. I will definitely further investigate the moisture so thanks for those pointers, I plan on replacing all of the speakers or at least the front pair, I’ve heard good things about the Pioneer units! Thanks again, Sam

What a smashing little Up! Sam - that’s in really good shape for its age and as others have said you and your mum will have loads of fun with Fiz 😊 I’d like to bet the window trim marks had come from an ice scraper, I’ve gouged window trim like that in the past and it used to bug me so I stopped using them 😂 pleased the damp smell has improved as that’s sometimes hard to crack - usually the best thing is to remove the trim round the area and get someone outside to spray a hose while you sit inside to see what’s going on. Never usually anything too serious just a new gasket or a bit of sealant required. Those three cylinder engines are so much fun too - I know they aren’t especially fast but the old saying of driving a slow car fast being more fun than driving a fast car slow is so true!! One of the first cars I bought brand new was a Fabia 1.2 HTP and the thing I loved most was the engine - they so aren’t just a 3 cylinder they are more like half a V6 😂😂 Honestly though as someone else said these reviews of your own cars are the best ones - your enthusiasm and passion for the cars really shines through. Your parents must be so proud of you and making such a lovely gesture for your mum speaks volumes about you as a person. Shout out to your mum too - it’s so nice seeing her chuffed to bits with the Up! ❤ Your parents have done a fantastic job bringing you up and seeing such a kind gesture between mum and Son is so wonderful 👍🏻👍🏻 KZbin at its very best here 😊

The early Up/Mii/Citigos were seriosly good cars. The infotainment module works well. You can rig up a parcel shelf string with a shoelace and a bulldog clip. Have you got the false boot floor?

The VW Up, along with the Seat Mii and the Skoda Citigo are "Driver's cars"! Get them on the windy country roads and they will leave the rest of them behind with their "go-kart" road holding - rather like that of the old BMC Mini. On the motorway, they easily keep up with other traffic - even with the basic 60ps engine. I know, because I have one!!
