Are still using the EA888 with the cast iron block for 2 litre? would have been better if they went with an all new engine being mildly hybrid. VW falling behind the competition IMO.
@ag891227 минут бұрын
The cast iron block is actually great. Make it aluminium and now you have to add all the weight back in to dampen and counter vibrations

Well done Sam - quality work as always 😊 (even the wasp wanted to be associated with your good work 😂). Wonder if it’s the same wasp from your last MG review that’s been waiting for you to come back 🤣😁 It’s a heck of a lot of Car for the money - I can see MG doing well with these. The lack of a split folding rear seat is a bizarre omission, like you it wouldn’t hugely bother me, but I can see it being missed by some buyers. That being said it’s performance, warranty and price more than make up for any odd shortcomings here and there 🙂

Great review. Thanks for not being a comedian. Lack of no rear split seat is a dealbreaker for me.Can't imagine what MG were thinking

Thanks Steve, are you saying I’m not funny 🤣 just joking! Yes I suppose it saved a few £, but it doesn’t make sense to me either! Hopefully they’ll resolve it and bring in a split rear seat.

Brilliant review Sam👏 I came accroas your channel when I watched your review of the car at the Geneva car show. It inspired me to look into the car and was one of the first to place an order, based on your review without a test drive and I'd never driven an MG. I've been looking forward to this full review. I've had mine nearly 2 months now. I've got the Metalic Black Trophy Model. Just short of 1k mileage now and I have no complaints at all. You've been spot on, not critical and pointing out things people may not like. Keep up your reviews. This is an honest one. 🎉

Next time, please get an adult to do the presentation. One who speaks a little slower and more clearer. Now I'm retired, I was looking for a 4 wheel drive vehicle with a large boot space to fit my wife's wheelchair in plus my shotguns and ammo. I really thought that the X-Trail was the one to buy, as money is not a problem for me. But after this poor presentation and the lack of tables for the rear seat passengers, plus a lack of a drivers armrest, I've decided against it. I've reviewed the VW Tiguan 4 Motion automatic, and it does seem to have those items which the X-Trail is missing. I still have more vehicles in mind but I'm sorry the X-Trail must be a no. no for me.

Good to see you touching on all trim levels. I test drove the Elegance trim. Very comfortable. Seats are amazing. Prefer the look of the R Line. Good to hear that you thought the R line wasnt too firm on the 20" alloys.

Nice motor but looks a A LOT smaller than the promotional material made it look a year ago. Nothing like an American explorer. Shame
@Carcode7 күн бұрын
Yes the online images are hard to put into perspective. I think the Explorer is the perfect size for a European marketed EV, being based on the ID.4 it is very similar in size to other medium SUVs. A coupe SUV will be coming out bringing back the Capri name, which should be a little bit bigger. Yes I think the Explorer name could cause a bit of confusion if compared to the American model, however as it’s not offered in Europe I like the name for the EV! I think Ford would do well with a large chunky styled EV SUV, the Mach E is quite large but has more of a sporty look. A good alternative if you wanted something bigger would be the Kia EV9 Thanks for watching 😄

That was a really good review. I'm starting to consider replacing my car and have been watching reviews for numerous hybrid cars and brands. But I seldom stay until the end of many, due to the presentation style .... some reviewers make too much effort to sell themselves rather than the car. In this review, I really felt it was all about the car and what it offered ...... concise and to the point observations. You kept subjective comments largely to a minimum and I came away thinking I might seriously check this car out at my nearest dealership. Well done!
@Carcode7 күн бұрын
I’m glad you enjoyed it Duncan! That’s a really lovely comment and is exactly how I aim for my videos to come across to the audience 😊 it’s a great small hybrid option for sure!

Fab podcast as always Sam 😊 Some interesting cars to look at - how about the new KGM Torres that looks like a total change of direction for Ssangyong. Also how about the Ioniq 5 N and the new Mini? Also you just keep being you, and remember to keep smiling through negative comments! The main reason I love watching your reviews is for your take on stuff - if people just want a spec sheet they can look on a manufacturers website rather than KZbin!! Carcode has grown so much since that first review I watched for the MX-30 at Dobsons and you are absolutely the best bit about the channel. So no changes please, just more of the usual Carcode content will do us all fine ☺️ Also looking forward to some Up!dates - I hope your mum is still made up with the Up! 👏🏻👏🏻

Isn’t it funny how often the critical comments come from default usernames with a string of numbers… For what it’s worth, I think the person who says you shouldn’t add any element of your own opinion is totally wrong. Quite literally almost all car reviewers add their opinion (some much more strongly than you do). If not, it’s basically a cold, spec review without any flair or critique added. They might as well just watch a manufacturer PR video. There is a channel on here that provides such reviews (they’re all really long and factual) but I, and I’m sure most others, watch reviews to get an opinion added in. I’ve watched your channel for over a year now and the quality of your reviews gets better all the time. You definitely deserve more views and subscribers and I hope you get that because you are very consistent, knowledgeable and put a lot of effort in. On top of that, you come across as a decent, friendly person and that goes a long way. Keep going!

What a horrible comment from the guy about the T Cross of course your views matter that's what you do on here and all reviewers do that,it's only natural to say what you think of the cars, keep up the good work and I certainly look forward to seeing your reviews

Thanks Alan! I’m sure he thought he was being “helpful” but it certainly had a negative vibe to it! I look forwards to sharing more reviews 😁
@baltvdb9 күн бұрын
I've got used to different reviewers always talking as though their opinion is actually fact, you never actually do that. Carwow always marks down front seats with an adjuster wheel because they're so much slower than a release leaver, What Car's Doug always marks down the leaver variety because they aren't as finely adjustable as the wheel, and both seem to think they're stating accepted fact rather than merely their preferences. Same with the "Real drivers ALWAYS prefer the manual drivetrain" nonsense, it's just personal bias. I don't think it's worth reading negative comments, but again that's only my opinion. Good upload👍
@Carcode9 күн бұрын
Thanks for another lovely comment! Yes, I try when saying my opinions that they are what I personally think, and not what EVERYONE thinks/should think! I’m aware as well that most car reviewers are huge enthusiasts like myself so we are likely to love things like the manual transmission etc, real consumers often aren’t so bothered by things that would bug me and other content creators and there’s so many cars that are highly praised which discount so many criticisms too.

This is the first VW in a long time that I’m genuinely looking forward to see hit the market. The ID2 is exactly what VW needs right now and could have real mass appeal - providing VW get the pricing and small details right. Bringing back physical controls is a great start - nice to see common sense has prevailed at last 👏🏻😂 I really hope VW hit the nail on the head with the ID2, especially with all the new upcoming small EVs from China. It’s reassuring to see VW have a product to fight back with and hopefully bring in some strong sales. You’re right too Sam there’s Beetle, Golf and Up! DNA all there in the ID2. I’d say those are probably three of the greatest VWs of all time so the ID2 is looking good to me 😊
@Carcode11 күн бұрын
It should be a huge success! I like that it seems to be designed as a “car” rather than and “electric car”! Volkswagen’s heritage and DNA is definitely a USP so I think it will be a big success, it has that edge on the Chinese manufacturers as you mentioned and new brands which have no heritage. I’m really looking forwards to it 😄
