VTech CS 6124 No Power At Base Solved How to Pair Handset and Base

In this video, I show you how to register your VTech CS 6124 handset to the base. If you get the "no power at base" message on your handset then this will fix the problem.

Sometimes you have to set the phone back on the base after clearing it and press and hold the "find handset" button until the phone message changes to registering. Then you wait 30 seconds or for a beeping sound and it will be reset.

I got the message, " out of range or no power to base " message on my CS6114. I followed the vtech six step method to correct and didn't work. I followed your step by step method " Menu, *7890#, etc.. Got it to prompt to register. Had to do it a couple of times, but, it finally registered it. I did it with a CS6114 base, which is the plain model of the one you did it on in the video. Thanks a bunch! Your method worked for me.

This worked perfect for me. The only things I had to do after completing all the steps to unregister the phone was disconnect the battery. Once I unplugged the battery and plugged it back in, then I received the To Register option. At that time I completed the To Register process as demonstrated. Thanks very much!!! :)

May God bless you for the "secret codes" procedure which I did not see in my manual for out CS6519 model. It worked but tell me if I have it right: Take the phone handset off the charging cradle and hit Menu/Select (it's the top right on CS6519) then star (*), 7, 8, 9, 0 #. Then the phone menu screen should says Test Base. Then scroll up (on my model it is the top of the middle button which says Volume and CID) so that it says Test hand set and then hit the menu button which should result in SW version. Scroll up until it says Net page. Then hit Menu which should result in Registration clear. Hit menu again to confirm and which should result in a confirmation beep (I am not sure if I pressed the middle Volume button to do this). Then click Off (and make sure no other VTech phone is in use) and place the phone in the charging cradle and. (ignore the "see manual") hold down the Find Handset button for about 4 seconds until you see the phone saying "Registering." And then take a break and in a few minutes it should be registered and working. Or (the video says) you can pick the phone up and press star to start the registration. We have 3 VTech phones, and to get all 3 working at the same time took some searching. Thank God for your heart to help.

On the CS6114 with no answering machine and no "in use" light, I did the codes and cleared registration. It wouldn't register kept saying failed and to see manual for registration. Wouldnt let me enter the menu or anything. When the screen went back to "To register handset, see manual" I pressed the find handset button for 4 seconds then pressed the # key on the phone while it was off base. Registered perfectly. THANK YOU for the codes and steps! I spent two hours trying to register my 2nd cordles phone to the base unti I came across your video!!!

Thanks a mill! I was about to give up all hope until I came upon your page. All the other suggestions amounted to bupkess. Had the V-Tech Dect 6.0 w/Answering machine base for years until the volume increase on the handset stopped working. I was unable to hear the person clearly on the other end. So rather than spend twice as much for the answering machine version, I simply purchased the regular one. Low and behold, I received the same message. I assumed they were automatically compatible? I bought a Vtech CS6314 (identical in appearance to the one in video) but messaged: “no line”. Changed the wall plug, “no line” still! I initially had an out of range message and your directions got me through to the Registering message on the screen, but that's where it seems to be getting stuck. For about 2 to 5 minutes it shows that, sometimes the in use light flashes during the process, sometimes not, then it eventually reverts back to see manual. Press #, rinse repeat...What to do?

Can I register a different VTech phone to my VTech LS6375-3? To explain further, I found a VTech phone with the base, but it's not the main base, and it doesn't actually fit into my LS6375-3 main base cuz of how it is made differently - it doesn't have that extra opening in the place where it plugs into the base! Is there a way to connect it to this other model of VTech if it won't fit into any of the LS6375-3 bases? Like I said, I have the other base for this other phone, but no model number that I can see on it? Or should I just get rid of this extra phone and base because it won't work if I can't plug it into the same base as my LS6375-3???

There is no difference in handset. The difference is that when the 6114 was made it was meant to go in a package with only one phone. The 6124 is meant for a double phone package. But they are exchangeable and work with any base. The "no line" means it needs to be reset again. Sometimes you have to follow this process a few times before it works and sometimes you have to put the phone on the base and hold the "find handset" button until it resets.

It didn't work on a cs6529-26. The base have the light going on and off all the time. I was able to clear the phones handsets (have to handsets) and still can't make it registrated. The wird thing is that both came in the same box with the base.

How can we increase number of rings before it goes to voicemail?? The phone rings 3 times then goes to answering machine.. Annoying because I cant get to the phone quick enough sometimes.. I know we can turn the ANS. off but for Gods sake I would like to have the option to have more rings perhaps 7 or 8 rings then ANS machine.. Any ideas?? Thanks!
