You need to start the car to check the level of the oil after. Also you don’t need a tool to put on the filter hand tight is more then enough.

Great vid! Some of the 2015s have an oil pan drain plug that is an Allen key, it's an 8mm if any one needs it.

Great helpful video. First time changing my oil myself and trying to learn about car maintenance at home. Really great, simple explanation for a beginner!

You should have poured new oil in the filter especially because it is installed vertical. What about drain plug wrench size? Empty oil filter causes no oil pressure for a few seconds. The plug crush washer needs replacing periodically.

I would suggested to use a open drain container so have less splashing and I some times lift the container up toward the engine to catch all the oil.

The hulk put my filter on there too. Had to stab a hole through it to take it out.

i would take it of the jack stand before looking the dip stick?! if the wheel on the ground it would play with the level

If you do mostly highway you can get away with longer intervals. City car? 5,000 is probably optimal.

GDi engines. No more than 5000 miles. If you short trip the car regularly, 3000 miles. Direct engine design is problematic, and requires regular oil changes.

@@a3300000not true. Oil changes alone won't do anything. I had a GDI Ford Focus. Did 10k oil changes. Mostly highway some city. Oil analysis turned out great. Replaced valve cover gasket (known leaks). Engine was clean as a top.
