The plastic Fasteners on mine were able to basically spin out of place didn't have to pop them out so whoever doesn't have the right tool try that. I used a flat head to get a bite on the edge to spin it counterclockwise. less chance of breaking them. Thanks for the tutorial man!

Thanks for the detailed video. Definitely going to use this to help me get mine fixed. I had recently replaced all my spark plugs and coils but will they still be usable if they have oil in them or do they need to be replaced? Thanks again for making this video.
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 8 ай бұрын
Thats kind of a subjective question. Oil on plugs is never good, and longterm exposure to oil they really should be replaced. You could probably get away with cleaning them up and reusing if they weren’t exposed to long, but personally I prefer replacing them when this happens.

Man you did a great job By explaining everything step-by-step my question is did you check it if leaked out again?
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 3 жыл бұрын
It’s not my vehicle, I just did the job on it, so I haven’t seen it since this job. Although I let it run for a while on and off while I had it in my possession to ensure no leaks, and it was good...so I see no reason why it would be. Any particular reason you’re asking?

This is amazing bro!, one question. What kind of material is this head gasket? And also if you can provide me a link for buy it will be amazing
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 3 ай бұрын
Appreciate it! The head gasket is multi-layer steel I believe. Here’s a link where you can buy the OE Mopar head-gasket: www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,2016,dart,2.4l+l4,3342305,engine,cylinder+head+gasket,5412 …and just for some clarity in case there was a mixup in what you were referring to, this video is for valve cover gasket, not the head gasket…..just wanted to note that just in case.

What drive is your torque wrench? And what size bolts besides 10mm. Thanks.
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 3 жыл бұрын
The torque wrench used was a 3/8 drive, but a 1/4 or 3/8 could be used. All bolt sizes are listed in subtitles throughout the video. Don’t remember there being too many different sizes at all.

Just a FYI the oil on top of the valve cover is just oil that spilled when it was getting refilled. Notice how clean it is when u put ur finger in it.
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 2 жыл бұрын
Most definitely is not from spilling. If anyone is spilling that much oil they need to be checked for Parkinson’s lol. I serviced this vehicle on the prior couple oil changes and it was consistently leaking prior, and I didn’t spill anything. Look at @ 12:05. All the holes are completely filled. Nobody is spilling oil perfectly in all those holes. These cars are good for leaking from all parts of the VCG, this is not the first Dart I’ve seen with oil all over the valve cover and surrounding it.

I have a 2014 1.4L Turbo…Do you think/know if this would be the process to fix it??
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 2 жыл бұрын
I’m not familiar with the 1.4 turbo platform, unfortunately. I’m sure there will probably be some similarities, but definitely some differences as well, as the gasket part itself is different for starters.

How do you get the clips out, just drill them out? I broke like 5 of mine.
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 2 жыл бұрын
Yea, they are gonna break. Unless they were taken out in the first year under 10-15K mileage, I doubt they will come out without breaking them. But yea man, just drill them out carefully, thats all I did. Then get the replacement clips I showed in the video and you will be good to go!

Is there a certain way to lay the gasket on and on the spark plugs gaskets and the gasket on the bolts if so how do you know which way
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 2 жыл бұрын
The gasket can only go on one way, due to its design & orientation. So the way it fits in, is the right way lol. Spark plug gaskets are pretty much the same deal if I remember correctly. And you can tell what orientation the bolt grommets go on by just looking at them essentially, but you can also compare them to the original grommet(s) orientation if need be to help give you the visual of how they are installed. Check out @ 20:13.

Mine is, the oil is getting past my tube o-ring on #2. Changed coil pack and it fixed it. Oil getting into the spark plug hole and coats the electrode causing misfire.

Thank you for this great intuitive video. Maybe you can help me out. I can not seem to find a gasket for my 2013 Dodge Dart SXT 2.0L FI DOHC 4cyl. Any thoughts on where I might be able to get one?
@TheOriginalBeeCee
@TheOriginalBeeCee 2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate it! What have you tried so far though? As far as I remember Autozone & Advance usually stock the gaskets for the 2.0L. I typically get my parts/gaskets from Rockauto, but if I know there is known issue(s) with a particular gasket design or fitment for a particular vehicle, I will grab it from a local parts store to make it an more easier return/exchange, if need be.

#BEECEEBUILT I honestly have the exact same car. And the same exact issue. I’ve prayed, and did a little research on how I could safely resolve this problem. I contacted a “who” it wasn’t of my favor. A 2200.00 reply..I’ve declined it. I surely hope this will work for me. I do feel like, the way you’re so patient with it, it’s the only way. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ #commentbelow 😢😢😮😊

$2200?! Lmao. Wow. That might be the wildest quote I’ve ever heard in my life, and i’ve heard some bad ones. You can get the engine replaced, and well…for cheaper than that. but if you plan on doing it yourself, ensuring you have the correct tools is really half the battle, and just take your time is really key. As you noted patience is the only way!
