Last year, I bought a 2013 ES 350, which had fully loaded options such as ML stereo, power trunk, sun shades, leather, and lane tracking system. It looks great in white. The car is serene, smooth, and feels very comfortable. I upgraded all the interior lights to LEDs, which took me 30 mins, changed the high beams to LEDs, and upgraded the tires to Michellin Crossclimate2, which are perfect for these cars. You should try upgrading the lights, so easy and worth it.

I got a 2015 Es300h with 280,000 mi just now. Will drive it up to 500k miles. Here's why: The battery in the hybrid system is Nickel-hydride. Long lasting and more durable than the modern Lithium batteries. The engine is a MPI system, using port injection and direct injection. If you have had issues with carbon buildup on GDI engines, you'll know to avoid them like old BMWs. The Sport mode pulls better than the 268-hp V6 engine at low revs due to the instant torque of the motor. and with 640 mi of range on a full tank @ 17.2 gal, you'll go far distances. The 2020 model year Es300h has 13.2 gal, sacrificing 140 mi between fill ups if you get the newer ones. I'll be riding this till im old and weary!

I got the 2013 ES300h in 2018 with 54k. It now has 110k and it’s such a pleasure to drive. So smooth and planted on the ground. Big trucks don’t blow me around because it is, itself, a fairly heavy but squat car. I average 36 mpg in summer, and 33mpg winter. If just highway driving, I can get 39-42mpg. Takes regular fuel as well. A few contentions: The EV mode will go up to 45mph and it is a huge benefit. The 2013 model also had the option for perforated, ventilated seats, as I have them equipped in mine.

I purchased a 2017 ES350 in July 2021. I absolutely love this vehicle. It is very comfortable for a sedan of this size, 17In wheels, and the 3.5L is very quick. My only wish for this series is that I would have optioned Android Auto. I don't believe it was available. Also as noted, Lexus could have done a better job eliminating road and wind noise at highway speeds. Very nice reviews you are doing for older vehicles. This really help for people who are in the used car market.

For anyone considering this car, here was my experience testing cars before I landed on a 2014 es350 ultra luxury with 84,000km on it about 8 months ago, and why I chose to go with it. I test drove a bunch of brand new cars (camry, sonata etc.) thinking that because they're brand new they should feel comfortable and smooth (I've never driven any brand new car before) and I wasn't impressed at all with any of them. Despite them being priced at 40k+ (in Canadian dollars) they all felt very regular and kind of cheap still. Next I tested a 2019 AWD Acura TLX with I think 80,000km on it priced at 36k just because a salesman talked me into it (plus they were offering me great money for my previous car) but again I was super underwhelmed. It definitely looked sick from the outside, but I felt like that's all it really all it had going for it, plus it required premium fuel which isn't ideal. I also test drove a 2021 es300h with only 6,000km on it just for shits (it was priced at 62k so I wasn't actually going to buy it, but I've heard great things) and honestly the lack of power in the hybrid was pretty disappointing, plus it wasn't the ultra luxury trim so the sound system was surprisingly bad and I don't think it had things like cooled seats and other bells and whistles which one would expect at such a high price point. Another thing I'll throw in in case anyone happens to care is that I tested a brand new pathfinder just out of curiously because it seemed like a good deal for the price compared to the kia telluride and hyundai palisade which were more expensive, and I was definitely impressed but I realized a car of that size just wasn't for me. Finally, I see an ad for the 2014 es350. I kind of wrote this generation of ES off because I wasn't a fan of the exterior styling at all, but this particular one had nice rims on it which I found made a massive difference. I saw the low KM and ultra luxury trim and it was priced at 25k which is significantly cheaper than anything else I was looking at so I said fuck it and tried it out. I was impressed the moment I sat inside, before I even turned the car on. When I took off driving, it was SMOOTH. The car as a whole had that smooth, well built, luxury feel I was looking for this whole time, at a very affordable price point and with no BS like premium fuel, lack of reliability etc. I ended up buying it right there and actually also ended up buying an 5 year/100,000km extended warranty (bumper to bumper, covers EVERYTHING except obviously regular maintenance like breaks and oil changes) for an extra $3200. I know they're supposed to be reliable but if something does go wrong they are expensive to fix and its an 8 year old car so who knows. So basically now I get to have a luxury car that drives like brand new, with regular fuel costs, and I have ZERO worries about repairs for the next 5 years, all for under 30k CAD (so like just over 20k USD). I know an LS is probably quite a bit better still (I've never driven one, but I would love to) but I feel like when it comes to bang for your buck, this really is it for people who want a big, smooth, luxury cruisers without the money stress.

@@goahead3995 Crazy high here as well and I personally don't think they'll ever drop back down. I bought a certified 2018 ES350 with 43k miles. The engine and transmission are super smooth and solid. The suspension rattles at slow speed. Their repair lasted about 3 weeks before the issue started again. The tech is also dated. Road and wind noise is not great. The ride is bad on rough roads. However, if you’re cruising on a smooth highway, it is hard to beat.

I bought a 2015 ES 350 for $12.4k about 2 years ago. Only had around 80k miles and a clean title. Was definitely a steal. I’ve had no issues and now have 112k miles. Taken it on a few road trips, with no issues. I keep it in sport mode, only because it feels a little more responsive and I like the tighter steering - while it has good straight line speed and a smooth, solid V6, it’s unfortunately not going to be super sporty if that’s what someone is looking for. I plan on driving it to 200k as a daily and will likely get another lexus next (probably a GX)

I bought a 2014 ES350 in 2020, a few months before used car prices went bonkers. Shopped it against the Charger/300/Challenger, anything in my budget($20,000) that was V8 had a ton of miles or "a story" about it being wrecked, modded/beat on/cosmetically looked beat. Thought about a V6 Charger or 300, but the ES350 was the better deal IMO. More room inside/in the trunk, better gas mileage(significantly even vs the V6 Chryslers), faster, lighter, nicer interior, handled better, better visibility. Only thing the Chryslers did better was a good bit more sound insulation. Also I don't really worry about a big repair bill with the Lexus, but then I thought the Chryslers would be reliable enough since I only drive 7-8k miles a year, it would take A WHILE before I cranked over 100k and started having problems.

Very informative video, thanks! My only dislikes, is the grill and the infotainment system. The grill just bores me to death. The entire make of the car just comes off for an older driver (which I am) but I like some personality and this model shows none but the numbers and reliability of Lexus never have let anyone short.

Today' ES model here in France starts at about 56.000 euros ( lowest trim).... A highly spec one can cost up to 78.000 euros..... Almost twice the price of this earlier model when it was new.... This earlier model was a jewel of a car at a price really affordable for many more to enjoy.... Today you really need to be wealthy to buy a new ES and this is the reason for this beauty in new version just doesn't sell and its sales here would very likely be cancelled . Sad

Oh wow thank you for sharing this with us. What is a commonly driven car in France that people really like?

@@MeynMotorGroup well , here most of the population are still fans of older diesels ,apparently, ( Peugeot and Citroen, French car makers, made and sold quite a lot of these during the years....from which lots were diesels from times Diesel was not yet considered the ennemy of the planet 😄 )..... in big cities like Paris there are many electric and hybrid cars, ... Most electric ones are Renault models -- Renault invested huge money into electric cars and being a mostly state-owned company, there is a lot of publicity for electric cars lately).... And almost all taxi and Uber cars in Paris are Toyota and Lexus hybrids In fact, the Lexus ES, is often named here "The favourite car for the Paris taxi driver" .... If you see one, the chance is that it's most likely black and it's a taxi ...😆 They are known for their incredible fuel economy and reliability and most premium taxi drivers got read of E class Mercedes in favour of Lexus ES Companies like taxi providers can afford to buy them as fleet vehicles at a good discount.... Unfortunately , for individual civilians, this car is too expensive to be affordable... That is why there are only a few dozen for sale as second hand in the whole country .. I personally love the Lexus ES... It's the most ( and maybe only) reliable luxury vehicle, that , being so rare here, makes people turn heads after it.. without being too overpowerful noisy and shouty like some german luxury brands, the ES is luxury with common sense, like economical comfortable ride without the fear something might break and let you stranded... All with elegant design.... A car for connaisseurs, I might say And I do intend of getting one some day after I pay my tax 😄

@@killerXover707 so used car prices still suck but will most likely drop if you wait a few months (nobody knows for sure of course) and although I like leasing, it’s become very expensive expensive to lease cars nowadays as well due to interest rates hikes so the days of $400 a month BMW i8s are officially over and are not coming back. You can maybe try and get a CPO ES like in this video or try to lease a 2022 RX if AutoCompanion still offers them since that was the cheapest Lexus to lease for a while

The ES350 is as solid as it gets. Good pick. I think Lexus deliberately let the GS die on the vine as it continually updated the ES. Didn't you call it "The Realtor Special" or something? 🤣🤣🤣 I would still go with the GS
@MeynMotorGroup
@MeynMotorGroup Жыл бұрын
Oh yes I do remember calling the ES the perfect car for realtors since it’s FWD and good rear leg room. Yea when most people think performance they just never think Lexus so pretty much all the performance Lexus cars just don’t sell well, most new Lexus shoppers just bought the cheaper ES since it was the same size as the GS pretty much and they just didn’t value the driving dynamics of the GS to pay up for it. Kind of like the Altima and Maxima of today most just don’t care enough about driving to justify the extra cost sadly

So, does anyone know what definitely should be serviced ?!? I don't want the Lexus dealer padding a bill with a lot of "checked" components/parts as they are very prone to do.
