That was a very good Mayo team and that was probably their best chance to win Sam. Who would believe that Dubs have only lost one champo match since 2012? Some team , probably better than the 70s Dubs and Deffo better than Kerry 70s & 80s- no Seamus Darby moment in Jim Gavin era.

@Soda King You are right there my friend, seriously scary statistics when its put like that, easily the greatest team I've watched in my lifetime. Every match you have named I am blessed to say that I have attended, even the dark walk out of croker in 2009 when it seemed there was little hope for dublin football, by god if you told me after that game I would have witnessed what I have in the next decade I'd have told you to lay off the smack. I am truly blessed to have watched these dubs do history. The only question on my mind now is how long can it stay this way haha. Not too much longer from the looks of our league campaign, the young kerry team on the come up easily has a few sam maguires in them. Can also see galway giving us trouble, yet to play them still in league. But before all that god knows how long itll be til we are back watching some football :(

some kind of confusion with the ref telling him or not, but o connor thought that there would be time for one additional play after the free. 12 dublin players in the box, very hard to score a goal so hedged his chances and was hoping to score one more point for a draw, can't blame him if he thought there was time for another play. You can see when the whistle goes mayo players running towards the ref, definitely asking about what happened to the additional time for one more play.

1:09:46 Joe McQuillan gives Rory O'Carroll a yellow card and gives Mayo a free. Before that, O Carroll levelled a Mayo man with a hard but fair shoulder. Even the commentary team agree. Mayo score a point. This is just ONE example of Joe siding against Dublin at every opportunity he got. I think it was the 2017 final....Dublin 1 or 2 points up at the end of the game. Joe added 'at least' 5 minutes injury time for absolutely nothing. There were maybe 2 or 3 for sure. Then......he decided to play over 8 minutes. Dublin passed the ball around from the 74th to 78th minute. Mayo chased and chased, right back to Cluxton. Eventually the ball was then hand passed out, then kicked 50 yards down the wing to a Dub.....and then aul Joe finally blew his whistle. He was trying everything to stop Dublin, and hand Mayo the Sam Maguire. A disgrace. However.........6 in a row!!!!!!!!! 🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵

I remember this game well as it was possibly the best final ive seen played and I've just checked back to make sure I'm correct. Your analysis is either extreamly bias (towards Dublin or against the Ref) or as or more likely, extreamly lazy, In the last few minutes the Mayo goal keeper (I think his name was Clarke) kicked a ball out and ever Dublin forward at least pulled there Mayo counter part to the ground. The ref should have issued at least 6 black cards. He didn't. So your talking through your arse about McQuillan's treatment of Dublin

It's Martin Carney, played for Donegal and then for Mayo. He's not as bad as John Maughan when it comes to biased commentary, Maughan is terrible, but he shouldn't be co-commentator in a final where Mayo are playing.
