Since I'm retired I don't put miles on vehicles like I used to . I will be in the market for a car in the next 6 months to a year and the impala has been my number one choice somewhere in the 2010 to 2018 models with ltz package. Very informative video thank you and have a great day and a better tomorrow

That's because this car doesn't align with his Toyota loving agenda. These cars are just as reliable if you service them regularly. Japanese cars are reliable if you do or don't service then properly. That's the key difference here and hence why people don't flock to domestics....they don't tolerate cheap holdouts who don't take care of their cars.

I own this exact same car. My research showed the timing chain issue was mitigated in mid 2012. The LLT 3.6 was a problem. This version, the LFX is a great engine. I agree on the head rests but its a quick car with great highway gas milage.
@TommyViper
@TommyViper 9 ай бұрын
I agree! In fact honestly, the gas mileage is very comparable to the 2.4L that was in my 2011 Chevy Malibu. Unless you're pushing the pedal down constantly, the 3.6 is a much better engine when you need it but doesn't suck down your fuel at the same time.

Keep your eyes open for 2012-2013 Impala / 2014-2016 Impala Limited. These years have the High Feature GM 3.6L "LFX" engine on all trim levels, which is a substantial improvement in both performance power and gas mileage when compared to the prior 3.5L and 3.9L engine options. 2012 also introduced the transition from a 4-speed auto to a 6-speed auto w/ manual OD (Paddle shifters - which equipment lists and dealers frequently do NOT mention). This referenced 6 speed was cross-developed between GM and Ford. Later model years also include some aesthetic improvements. Some examples include extended rocker panels moldings, honeycomb grille inserts (Black or Chrome), body-cut dual muffler outlets molded into the rear bumper, and an upgraded spoiler that was previously exclusive to the "Impala SS" trim (2006-2009 Production 5.3L "LS4" V8). LS/LT trims comes with FE2 "Touring" suspension for a softer and relatively comfortably ride. LTZ trim is equipped (Standard) with FE3 "Sport-Tuned" suspension (Also featured on "Impala SS" trim) that provides a slighter firmer and more responsive drive, but can also handle corners and maintain body roll a tad better.

@@osbaldobarajas6672 The chances of going against that Infiniti would not be in your favor, due to the newer G35 models producing significantly higher 275+ Horsepower. It also depends on what engine is equipped in your 2011 Impala (See Below). Remember, if you're going to race, make sure it's on a straight road with clear visibility (Daylight, Clear Weather, No Hills Blocking View). Also be certain it's a road with ABSOLUTELY ZERO cars in sight (Such as an unincorporated rural area). A radar detector helps, too. - 2006-2011 Impala: 3.5L / 210 Horsepower - 2006-2011 Impala: 3.9L / 230 Horsepower - 2007-2009 Impala "SS": 5.3L V8 / 310 Horsepower - 2012+ Impala: 3.6L / 300 Horsepower As for Flex Fuel, it's rumored to actually REDUCE power production. I got rid of my last Impala. I find them to be good automobiles. I had a 2003 LS with the 3.8 6 4-speed automatic traded with 108,000 no issues no problems I purchase a 2007 lt2 3.9 V6 4-speed automatic no issues no problems traded with 133,000 miles on it. Purchase a 2014 Limited Lt same color and style as the 2013 showing in the video 3.6 V6 6-speed automatic no problems no issues traded it with 144000 miles. All vehicles had the original Engine, original timing chain, original transmission.

You should try to put 200,000 miles at least on them before get rid of them......why not ?
@cld2930
@cld2930 Жыл бұрын
@@jimd2101 Because they were all original. The problem I had was I was doing about 100 miles a day of driving and I didn't want to take the chance of being stuck on the side of the interstate with mechanical problems waiting hours for a tow truck. And I'd be that way with any vehicle it really doesn't matter the brand like people will say a Toyota Camry can go 300,000 miles if I'm driving a Camry at 150,000 I'm getting rid of it. And when everything is all original like that eventually something's going to give probably not the engine probably not the transmission, but Eventually I'll probably looking at alternator, fuel pump, water pump, starter, timing chain. And the value of the vehicles at that time were only work about five to six thousand to start putting 800 to 1000 here 800 to 1000 there you're better off trading it for five grand not putting a dime into it and starting over.
@jimd2101
@jimd2101 Жыл бұрын
@@cld2930 well....motors last longer and a starter motor and alternator or water pump is just regular maintenance.....these days I would definitely try to get at least 200,000 miles before I would trade....The guys who trade in thier cars every 5 years are not beating the system.....sure you always have a dependable ride and you may not have any repairs , but you will still have a car payment....😃😃
@cld2930
@cld2930 Жыл бұрын
@@jimd2101 Yes that is a very good point! I'm going to see if I reach 200,000 with my next vehicle I won't try it with vehicle I have now. My car payments are always low because I never purchase new I always go gently-used. That was the beauty part about the Impalas not holding their value. I would purchase a two-year-old to four year old Impala twenty thousand miles upwards to about thirty thousand miles for under $15000 put over a hundred thousand on it and trade it for between 4500 and 7000 dollars and the whole time it had a bumper to bumper GM warranty with free towing, loaner car, full parts and labor at any GM dealership I paid for fluid changes, tires, brakes, wipers, and filters everything else was covered.

I really like mine! I have the last model year up from this one, but it's the same style since it's the Limited version. The one big gripe I have about it...I hate the black interior. It just looks so chintzy and cheap. Many people seem to really dig black interiors, I do not. But other than that, it's a great car and has a ton of power! The 6T70 tranny does have a few quirks and generally needs to have the seals replaced on the TEHCM otherwise shifting can get a little wonky and results in a P0877 and P0989 error code. I've had mine for about 4 years now and I really like it, it's a nice ride. It's somewhat easy to work on and really gets you where you need to go.

I own the 2013 LTZ, it has 95K miles on it, i did have to change the fuel pump and alternator recently that seemed a bit premature? No transmission issues but the biggest complaint I have is the AC actuator motors, they start clicking and to replace is about $200, three have gone out so far. Overall it’s a smooth riding cruiser and with today’s car prices I plan to hold on to it until the wheels fall off.

The only thing I hate about these cars is the sluggish transmission and the rust buildup above the windshield on some units, not to mention the blend door actuators that always fail. Watch the movie trailer 'Drive' 2011. The 2013 Impala is a great American car, fairly comfortable, the 3.6 engine is great, lots of power, a nice driver on the highway. You can't go wrong if you found one with low mileage. IMHO. I hope Chevrolet gets reasonable and reintroduces this great value automobile. America has always produced these type of sensible cars for the average guy, but the national market has gone SUV crazy.
