Its really unfortunate that more people didn't buy this generation of Viper as it is a truly very nice and fast vehicle. Sad to see if go out of production. I think part of the problem was it wasn't marketed very well.

Yes that and the fact that it wasn't offered in an automatic transmission, the Z06 is a far superior daily driver, more comfortable, faster in the real world with A8, but something about the viper is just so awesome and raw, exactly why I bought on instead of the Vette, both are great cars though, but it is true dodge did an awful Job marketing the car and it was a pain the ass to get as no dealerships had any and it was very hard to order.

That and it was too expensive when it first came out, hence why they dropped the price by 15K in 2014. Then people looked at the car with a fresh set of eyes. Even so, this car was rarely if ever at new car shows and everyone said it was so hard to get. I also think the fact that Chrysler tried to make SRT a brand didn't help. Sure this car would have been the perfect flagship car, but SRT Viper just doesn't roll off the tongue like Dodge Viper does. Not to mention the heritage the name has with the Dodge brand. By the time they got smart and put the Viper back under the Dodge brand combined with everything else, it was too late. It's a shame because this really is an amazing car and IMO one of the most underappreciated cars in recent years. I think people will be kicking themselves down the road for not buying one. The older ones are holding their value well, especially the original GTS. Lastly I think one of the biggest things that led to the demise of the 5th gen Viper was the introduction of the Hellcat in 2015. 707 hp for 65K.....Dodge shot themselves in the foot.

Great review; very in-depth and I learned a lot. I have an Arrow Stage II Viper TA. However I do believe the windshield is shared with the gen IV so that is the only shared part from previous gens.

Such a good looking car. When the first GTS's came out, the dealer had a blue one with white stripes in the show room. I drove out of my way a couple times a week just to go stare at it. One of the most beautiful looking car designs ever in my opinion.

Really nice Viper. I was looking at them too this year but I ended up going with a 2014 GT500. I really wanted a Viper ACR but it was out of my budget. The GT500 had big horsepower and fit my budget so I went with that. Love your reviews. Very no nonsense and professional. Subbing.

Unlike the C7, Dodge hit a homerun with the new Viper it looks AMAZING. One of my dream cars for sure, the old GTS was my favorite but this is just plain better. Congrats!

That viper looks so damage good. Since seeing you get yours I have taken a liken to them. If I ever hit the lotto or work hard enough to acquire a supercar I'll have this. This has to be on of the best looking cars ever created and will go down in history as so. It's a shame that they weren't marketed at all though and were way too expensive when they came out in 2013. Also making SRT a brand for a short period of time was a mistake. But Dodge really shot themselves in the foot when they released the Hellcat in 2015, even though by then the Viper was back under the Dodge brand, had more trim levels, and cost 15 grand less than it did before. 707 hp for 65 grand in a more comfortable, practical car; everyone was sold. The Viper fell through the cracks unfortunately. It's a real shame because these cars had so much potential, but Dodge needed to do more with it to keep it competitive. There's rumors circulating that it may come back for 2020 and I would love to see that. With Chevy planning to release a mid engine C8 Corvette by that point though, they absolutely have to get the car right.

This gen Viper was such a vast improvement over the previous ones inside and out. I remember the first time I saw this GTS at a car show the leather interior was very surprising. Still one hell of a capable track car if you can handle it too!

Kyle, you mentioned that the key is like the Corvette and that you need to lock the vehicle with the key fob. I own a C7 Corvette and there is an option under settings that enables for the vehicle to lock it self after a few seconds of closing the door. I don't know if Viper has a similar option but its worth investigating for better convenience. Beautiful car and Congrats!
