The truck has power adjustable pedals and a height adjustable drivers seats. Only issues you may encounter is trying to get into the thing and possibly seeing over the tall hood.

We aren't saying flooring the vehicle will damage it, it's just the truck is still brand new, and some people will not be happy since the break in period is not being followed. Personally if the truck already had the miles on it, the throttle would most likely be floored to give you guys the demonstration.

It's an amazing truck. Got pretty much the same one just with the box, 6 1/2 with spray liner. The ecoboost engine is great! I fit in it and i'm 6'4 with plenty of leg room.

Well, short to each person is different, however, I am 5'7" and this truck handles EXCELLENT in all aspects and even gets great gas mileage for a truck this size! Forget it if you like a cozy compact interior as this truck is a SMALL CONDO as in PENTHOUSE (its HUGE) and the back seats lift completely up allowing you to sleep in the back area inside. Its easy to drive and park and you never have to worry about front parking curbs or rear ones. Ford has really surprised the market! Buy used!

Well, you could say that, however, the Raptor has no rebates unlike this model which currently have $4000 or $3500 depending on the engine. Also, the Raptor sells for above sticker unlike the "normal" F-150 models.

Nothing wrong with that, Ford knew that some buyers just had to have a V8 which is why they offer it. You also happen to get an additional $500 in rebates if you get the 5.0

its a f150 you can tow with it but never enough to really put the engine under any stress. remember the f150 maxes out a 12000 pounds.

You said manual mode shifting in a truck is useless. It's actually Very useful when pulling very heavy trailers especially in hilly or mountainous conditions. It helps a lot when you can select the best gear and lock out all the others ,and keep the transmission from hunting. Also it is a Twin Turbo engine. The intercooler cools the air charge going into the Turbo no the engine. The radiator is there to keep the engine temp in check.

The towing mirrors were only on the super duty 2013 was the first year they put them on the f-150 but you could order them and put them on but that was the first year they came with them on from the factory.

I’ve owned this truck for 4 years with the ecoboost and no problems just hit 40k miles. Super comfortable seats and still better looking then the new ones. Get the black one

The manual mode is far from 'useless' on a pickup...why do you think almost all 18-wheelers are still manual transmission? When towing or hauling you want to be able to choose your gears for hills and helping slow the truck down.

Looks like the HIDs have fair intensity but, don't illuminate very far down the road and have a distinct cutoff. Dosn't look like they're really that much better then the halogens on the older trucks, do make the truck look cool tho.

Manual mode is way more useful in a pickup imho. Most use it to lock out gears when towing. Also nice to engine brake when towing a load.

I actually prefer the 6.5ft bed. Ever try to load an ATV in a 5 footer? Next to leaving the tail gate down it doesn't fit.

not me, and i have put my ATV on a 5.7ft bed. it fits, but you can't put the big ones in. but a medium size ATV like i have fits just fine. if you want the 6.5ft bed, then don't buy the crew cab get the ext cab.

I have a 2013 fx4 with a 6 inch pro comp lift, when i bought it i used regular, my average milege was 17.6l/100km. Now i use husky 94 premium and it dropped to 16.8,plus i notice a difference in lag.

I think the cell phone area in the center compartment is more for those with the gloves. I have an otter box and I clip the outer case the piece of the lid. It keeps it available but out of the way. It is all bluetooth anyway.

@Kino483 The Ram can get that MPG on the highway because it has an 8-speed automatic rather than a 6-speed so less revs needed. I also believe that it has active cylinder management. So only 8 cylinders are in effect when yiu are towing or gunning it.

It probably does have a use, you are correct I have never towed anything. I mostly associate a manual mode for sport driving. I'm sure it's useful when going up steep grades to manually choose a lower gear

I believe the cell phone storage under the lid of the center consoled is designed for a belt clip. I think Ford was keeping in mind that Independent contractors or trade professionals buy this truck a lot and they tend to carry there cell phones on there belts, in clips. Just my opinion

Good job on the review overall. One item I would add is to provide an answer, if you have one, why Ford doesn't have an inner rear wheel well like the Ram does. Another area manual mode/clutchless manual allows a driver to improve their experience performance wise; get on the pedal and cycle through the gears ya know?

SuperchargedAMG: that's not true, and fx4 is not a trim level it's an offroad package. this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. the actual trim levels are the base xl, which only comes as a 2WD regular cab with the v6. then it's the stx, that trim level is the similar to the base xl except they come as ext cab instead of regular cab with the v6. they normally come in 2WD, but i think you can get 4WD and the 5.0L as an option. the XLT has two cab configurations, the 4WD fx4 package comes standard on the XLT, and the 5.0L is standard unlike the stx where you have to get as an option. now i think on the XLT crew cab only you do have the option to get the 3.5L ecoboost. you have two cab configurations to choose from, ext cab or crew cab. now from the lariet on up that's when you start getting out of work truck range. i have a 2014 F150 ext cab with the 5.0L, and i use that truck all the time for work. i do use gloves, but mainly in the winter when it's cold because i don't have a heated steering wheel.
