I saw somewhere that it takes 10w-40 motorcycle grade oil? does it have to be the 10w-30?

My suggestion would be to do it once per year before you put it into storage for the Winter. If you dont have a winter, then once per year is fine assuming you are using a synthetic like i showed in the video.

So what is your suggestion on whether to use a 10w30 oil intended specifically for a motorcycle (scooter) vs. a standard 10w30 oil you would use in a car, such as Mobil1.

I think i would 10w40 if you live in hot areas, either 10 30 or 10 40 should work.

The only thing I can find is a brochure. The service or even owner's manual seems really hard to get with all the web phishing scams related to the manual. I'm surprised Honda Powersports doesn't have it on the website.

Do you screw in the dip stick before measuring? Or set it at the opening?

Yes, screw it in then remove it and check the level.

Nate Lawton I personally use Amsoil in all my vehicles, but you have to become an Amsoil customer and purchase everything online (worth it to me, but most people just want to go to AutoZone, ORiellys, NAPA, etc which is fine. Just look for a synthetic SAE 10W30 oil (Brands such as Mobile1, Lucas Oil, Royal Purple are all good).

i think it is 17mm. if you have a socket set, you can just try them till one fits....
