I love watching Norm bowl. After rolling a game with him at Hollywood bowl in Portland Oregon, I worked hard to emulate the impressive forward roll he put on the ball. What a great bowler and even greater sportsman.

Norm is just metronomic. I wish I could bowl even 1% as consistently as he does. And what a cover in game 1 to fill the 10th! A true legend of the game, and a great sportsman, too.

Norm seems to be a very cool person to know. He's a great coach toooooo! Got some great advice in his videos. Badger oil pattern 52 feet!!! I need to try it. Norm said it best, strike or go home. Strikes are better.

Norm was just as cool back when he still bowling in Mt Pleasant, Tx. at Dukes Lanes. Always has had a magnetic personality, it runs in his family. I know them all, and of course, I knew his dad, Dave, as well. His mom is one sweetheart of a lady, his brother Micah, is also someone, anyone would wanna hang out with too. Norm surprised me one afternoon. I went out to get the mail out of our mailbox & inside was a smal USPS mailer box & it had a return address in Clermont, Fl. I immediately knew who had mailed it to me. I waited until I was in the house, I called over my wife to come check this out, because I told my wife I thought it was from my long time, home-town, friend, pro bowler Norm Duke. She, being skeptical of everything I did or said, she lets out a uh-huh, sure it is. Then says, quit lying, you don't know him. A few weeks later, I talked to Norm about pranking my wife. Knowing she was answering the phones in our fam's rv resort, I got Norm to call the office. It took her a few seconds to realize it was really Norm Duke calling & asking for me by name. So, I hit the speaker button, so my father-n-law & mom-n-law could listen too. I knew Norm was busy on tour so we talked a minute or two then sadly, it was time to hang up. That was the first time in almost 30 yrs, since last talking to Norm. Nowadays, we do like the rest of the world, I see him online, remembering his 'down-time' is his free time, so I'll drop him a quick howdy Norm, to let him know, an old voice from his past is still trying to keep up with him. I've never even seen photos of his wife Karen or his son Brandon, but, I know they gotta be good people too, if they're with good ole Norm. He will always be a class act in my book !!! Love to watch him do those trick shots, like his speciality trick shot, using a towel !! Yeppers, a towel !! Search on youtube.com for it, I can only shake my head in wonderment. What he lacks in height, he makes up for it in sportsmanship & class ! Proud to call my friend, Mr Norm Duke, my friend !! I predict 2020 is a year for 'Dukeness !'

Norm is an absolute class act. That’s what the game is all about. As great as he is, I can’t stand guys like Pete Weber. Duke is king.

@@jeffhodge7272 that’s so awesome, I had the honor to bowl with Petraglia when I was twelve (Petraglia and Duke are my all time favs) in a pro am at Carolier lanes in NJ, 2006. As scared as I was, Something about bowling with Johnny made me feel such at ease and wound up shooting a 258 with my favorite pro at such a young age. He took a bunch of pics with me, signed them, and signed a Brunswick bowling pin that I have on top of my guitar amp. Bowling with him was one of the greatest days of my entire life. What an honor.

THEY NEED TO BRING PBA BOWLING BACK TO ANTENNA TV 📺 , ESPECIALLY DURING JANUARY AND FEBRUARY!!!
@coasterfreak04718 жыл бұрын
Speaking of the 8-10 split at 11:10, I actually made that split by barely hitting the 8 pin on its left side and the pin barely fell over and rolled into the 10 pin, knocking it over. Not sure if I could do it on national television, but whatever... lol
@KevboKev8 жыл бұрын
I made it once ever, and I unfortunately leave it a lot on a pocket shot. I know it's my entry point though. I made it by just skimming the left side of the 8 pin, and it tipped to the left, sliding over the the 10, and the bottom of the 8 pin is what hit the 10 to slowly knock it over. :-)

I have picked up the BIG 4 twice by shooting at it like Norm... sliding the 6 pin over. The six pin slides vertically and then it falls. Finally, it spins between the 4 and 7 taking them out. I've also picked the 4-6 and 7-9 by sliding the right pin into the other.

I love watching Belmonte lose. The only reason that he wins is his 600 revolutions per minute buzz ball. Lets face it, you don't need a lot of accuracy to scatter the pins with a ball like that. I see drunk league bowlers muscle the ball straight down the lane and overpower the pins. The oil pattern doesn't matter when you can overcome it with that many revs.
@MsLrmeyer8 жыл бұрын
pfretman it actually does matter because ur not gonna stand all the way left and throw it all the way out to the right on the badger
@keithclark18757 жыл бұрын
If it's your job to knock down pins then what is the problem? Why does is matter how it is done?
@BTyler19826 жыл бұрын
If it takes no talent or brains to do what Belmonte does, than why don't you do it and win a PBA Championship? Just throw it hard and eliminate oil patterns and overcome your lack of skill.
