2013 Passat 3.6L V6 (B7) Spark Plug Coil Removal

I could not find any videos for spark plug or coil removal on a Passat v6 B7 (maybe B8 too) and I decided to make my own to help others. The T10095A is for removing the Coil Packs on top of the Spark Plugs and suggest getting the tool. I bought a generic one from ebay for $17.95 plus $4.5 s/h. www.ebay.com/i.... This is a great video. Do you know which cylinders are which? I'm trying to locate a cylinder layout and need to locate cylinder 4 on my 2012 passat v6 3.6 se? I just got the tool too! Thank you.

I did it without the tool, by making due with a pair of needle nose pliers. Like your video states, I recommend using the tool. Big pain otherwise. Not only that, the clips on the other harnesses were a MAJOR pain. It took a long time.

Warren Hall thanks for the feedback. The tool makes it so much easier. Apparently, there is a tool for the clips too, but a thin flat head worked just fine for me.

Getting those plugs off the coilpacks is awkward. Couldint have done it without this video.

That first one is easy to get the harness like thing off. You use anything for the other plugs?

Jake Veliz thanks for the comment. You are right the first one was easy and the others were a little tricky to get the unclipped. Apparently, they make another tool for that, but that is not necessary. A skinny flat head screw driver will do the trick or a pick tool works well too. Good luck!

Can you help out with misfire issue

Unfortunately, I am not a mechanic and I would not know for sure. What you can do if you know which cylinder is misfiring, then swap the coils with another one. if the problem tracks with the coil, then the coil is the issue., If the problem stays with the location, then it could be the cable. Hope that helps. Hopefully, someone more competent than me has made a video on this. Good luck.

Its much harder than the video shows, my vw cc is 5 yrs old and i cracked top clip trying to get it off. Also the coils were very hard to pull off and i had the puller which was still hard to get off. It took me an hour and a half and now im worried the clip that i cracked could give me a problem .

I did mine recently again and I too ended up breaking a clip on one of the connectors, but it has been good so far. I did find online that you can replace just the connector, but I have not come around too do that yet. I think the trick to the clip is to push it down and it disengages.
