Lovely performance by Jo Sumi. South Korea has shown the democratic maturity that is evidenced by the fact of electing a female President. I hope someday Spain (my country) can be able to elect a woman for the Presidence of the Nation. Congratulations, Jo Sumi and South Korea; you both are a great role model.

At 00:20, why did the soprano pull her hair forward and outward, while at 00:25 the lady in black dress, upper left to the sopranom, did the opposite: by partially pulling her hair backward and inward? Is there any connotation to these two seemlingly opposite behaviours?

@sunrayz812 жыл бұрын
The guy behind was adjusting his tie too. No offense but I find all three behaviours unacceptable. No matter how gusty the wind is or even if a mosquito lands on your face when the national anthem is being played, one should stand still and should not fidget.

May i ask what is the name of the 2nd song played after Aegukga? I cant find it.
@HYEON-h6k5 ай бұрын
1:28 The title of this song is 'A Moment of Silence for the Patriotic Martyrs and the Spirits of the Fallen Warriors,' and as the title suggests, it is a song to honor those who fought for the independence of the country and veterans of wars such as the Korean War. In Korea, it is commonly performed as part of the national ceremony following the singing of the national anthem.

【Former Korean 'comfort women’ for U.S. troops sue own government】[Korean War] South Korea (Reuters)---Cho Myung-ja ran away from home as a teenager to escape a father who beat her, finding her way to the red light district in a South Korean town that hosts a large U.S. Army garrison. After she escaped home in the early 1960s, her pimp sold her to one of the brothels allowed by the government to serve American soldiers.

On June 25, sixty-four years after the Korean War broke out, Cho joined 122 suriving comfort women, as they were called, in a lawsuit against their government to reclaim, they say, human dignity and proper compensation. www.yahoo.com/news/former-korean-comfort-women-u-troops-sue-own-104514461.html?ref=gs

Would one ever visit NORTH Korea... I wonder how pissed they all would be, if you walked around with your guide singing this to yourself, or out loud? :D
@xTheLemon10 жыл бұрын
I didn't sing the South Korean anthem in North Korea. They did appreciate me singing the North Korean anthem there as a foreigner though. But the other way around; singing the North Korean anthem in South Korea will result into getting hit or imprisoned as well. (There was this South Korean guy who retweeted Manse Kim Jong Il janggun from a NK Twitter account, he was sent to jail for some years). But yeh, you will certainly hit the media leaflets if you do that, haha xD The many North Koreans I've spoken with don't hate the South Korean people (just like the other way around, hopefully), but they just can't accept each others political system, and singing the South Korean anthem (which is the same as praising South over North) will be inappropriate. Refering to South Korea as Daehan Minguk and calling the clothing Hanbok was something that you should not do there either, the DPRK citizens got pretty pissed at some people in our group for that. I love both Koreas and I hope they can both live in peace someday, hopefully together.
